Surly Bill, on the 215/85R16... I'm running them on a DRW. No modifications other than aftermarket rims from Custom Wheel Solutions (the stock rims don't have enough space between the rear wheels for this size). They are tight in the front but don't make any contact. Plenty of room in the rear. I'd assume they would be fine on a SRW on stock rims.

Never mind. This question was already asked, but not fixed.

Why does the list say 245/70r16's require mods when they are smaller than 245/75r16's that apparrently don't require mods?
So I have some fresh eyes to this tread and I have read it from the start. Originally the 245/70 that required mods was installed on 17 inch tires and somewhere down the line they were switched on the list to 16's. The 245/70/17 would be larger than a 29.5 tire. Also this has since been updated lol

Soooo, the discussion thread doesn’t seem to work...

anyone know if the 265/75r16 (max recommended by van compass) will fit in the spare tire holder with deflation and a ratchet strap?

edit: I know the summary post says no info, but i wasn’t sure how that is updated. Just wanted to put my feelers out.

Surly Bill,
come on help me I'm an inexperienced with a European 350 awd transit, and I still don't understand if I install the 235/85 / R16 I have to cut the welds, or there is only the spare wheel problem, because here in Europe nobody sells lift kits Thank you very much.

I updated the links that the "Post #1" was pointing to. Working on the other redirect now.

Edit: the link for the Other Tire Thread in the previous posts should be fixed now. IF you find one I missed please click on REPORT in the triple dot menu top right of every post.

I had them on my Quigley, which has a 2" lift and I had to grind down the welded seam at the back of the front wheel well about 20mm. I would imagine with no lift it might still work, but you would have to grind the seam higher into the wheel well.
