Interesting .. so it’s hanging a bit it sounds like. I would be curious to see a picture if you have it mounted up
Check out this blog. It has pictures of what the end result would look like. It’s what I’m following for modifying the pinch welds, and getting the spare wheel seated

what link to a discussion?
If you are going to be uptight about how people use "your" thread, be clear.
@surly Bill hasn't been the same since he moved to South Korea.
Sure hope that whole martial law fiasco there did not transpire due to his transgressions.

Second paragraph. That means the one after the first paragraph.

Please go therefor discussion about tire sizes so i dont have to constantly update for the people coming to this thread for info.
Please read post #1 before replying

IS IT SO HARD?!

NOTE: info intended for 2015-2019 single rear wheel Transit 150-250-350. I don't have info about the clearance on 2020+ Transit vans (I assume it hasn't changed, but I don't know for sure)

List to date, 1/18/2024

Stock size:
235/65/16, no modifications needed, fits in spare tire mount (28")

225/75R16, no modifications needed, fits in spare tire mount (29.3")

245/70R16, no modifications needed, fits in spare tire mount (29.5")

255/70R16, no modifications needed, MAY fit spare tire mount; some say yes, others say no (30.1")

215/85R16, no modifications needed (30.4)

The following sizes, in excess of 30.5", will not fit the spare tire mount without deflation and/or adding a ratchet strap to secure them

245/75r16, modifications needed (some report no modifications needed)(spare fits on 2020 with deflation) (30.5")

265/70r16, modifications needed, using 3" lift, no info on spare tire mount (30.6")

The following sizes will likely not fit in the spare tire mount despite deflation

265/75r16, modifications needed (31.6")

235/85R16, modifications needed (31.7")

(modifications = cutting or removing part of body or trim, adding a lift kit, adding wheel spacers)
(note: load rating depends on brand and model of tire, sizes will be the same regardless of brand in most cases, so I did not include the load rating or brand in the summary)
(note: info shared on this list is from forum members, and it's accuracy is only as good as their word)

Looks like Cooper discontinued the 245/70/16 Discoverer e rated tires unfortunately. No longer listed on their site.
Thanks for ignoring the statement to not use this as a discussion thread.

Since there are now so many comments etc that disregard post #1 from @surly Bill I am closing this to further responses and making it a sticky for now. Hopefully it can be consolidated into a cleaner thread later.
