I was also considering just using pure neutral grain spirit, but that research is still in the future. That might be hard on the seals in the system.

Also, another plug that it is nice to be able to order Truma parts online. I just got this little guy: Truma Frost Control Valve (John Guest Fittings) | Truma Combi heaters + Spare Parts | Leisureshopdirect to add another frost protection layer.
So I had these early on and was selling them but they are a really slow seller. Maybe I should keep some on the shelf.

I would buy everything from you, but not sure what kind of volume there is so that is your decision! :D
I think shipping is the biggest factor.
I hate charging someone $20 to ship a small item like this but can't include $20 worth of shipping in a $150 item, as that would be my entire profit.
If someone ordered a Combi I would happily sell them a valve I have a $15 profit on and include it in the box, but I would not feel happy about charging my actual cost to ship (lowest UPS charge ever has been $14.
Wish we had access to USPS.

Can someone with Truma Combi 4 please give me some anecdotal evidence of fuel consumption? Just list a trip you have taken, general temps, temperature you set your van to, and how much propane you burned. I am trying to figure out how big of a propane tank I need. Thanks!
Had a truma combi in Winnebago Travato. Keeping the van (uninsulated) at 65 degrees in 30 degree weather for a week and a half, and we only added a gallon of propane. It sips propane. I LOVED the Truma, especially the ability to use 120v for heat when demand was low, and save the propane when shore power was available.

We have listened. We now have these in stock: $179 including UPS shipping and 1/2" pex adapters.

Thanks Tom! I just ordered one for the Truma you sold me!

Yes about 40 inch's aft of the gas filler port, I was thinking to space it so that the intake would be unimpeded, I will know more today after I remove the trim peace. The easy way would be to mount it at the peak of the convex curve, and bob's your uncle.
Kazuo, I was wondering did you ever make any progress here? I got side tracked...Sent you a PM

Question about the unit itself: I see that the water-heater portion has a 10-liter water jacket. That is, it's not tankless. When the 10 liters is depleted, what happens? Is the eco powerful enough to keep cranking out hot water as if it had no tank, or do we have to wait for more hot water? How long? Anybody tried to use one in a recirculating shower?

It is not tankless. 12 minutes or so to fully recover. The Truma is intended for boondocking/RV use not campsite use where water and sewage is unlimited.

I will hopefully be installing my Truma unit next week. My build was delayed for over a rear when I was rear ended 😟 Tom …. a question for you …. Is the 24” minimum length on the exhaust/intake written in stone or can it be shorter? To get the required 24” I’d need to curl the ducting into a “U” shape (horizontal…not vertical). I would prefer a straight run out to the side wall but where I’m situating the heater it would mean a run of less than 24”. Any advice? Thanks

It is set in stone. The Truma being a condensing furnace relies on the heat gain on the intake from the exhaust throughout that 24" to create the most efficient burn.

Great, thanks for the speedy reply. So do you foresee any issues curving the pipe? To obtain the 24” the outlet / inlet on the Truma would be facing into the van, so I’d need to curve the pipe around in a U shape to exit through the van wall.

I to wanted

I read that the USA distributor absolutely will not honor any warranty, and no parts. I am sure they have some exclusive deal with Truma, the reason the Canadian company has the Truma units to sell is that they bought them at a Bankruptcy sale.
I am trying to get a truma Combi Comfort Plus for my Four winds camper. Truma won't sell it - they only supply the systems to new campers to be build in as the first heating systems.
Where can I purchase the truma Combi Comfort Plus in the US or Canada for me to install it?
Does anybody know?
Thank you very much!
Peter

No. There is not chance of finding anyone in North America that will sell you a Combi unless you find a used one out of wrecked camper.

That was fast. Sounds disappointing. I am from Germany and the units are available from TRUMA all over Europe (Not 110V).
Are the units not available in Canada?
Where would I have a chance to get a unit (used) in the USA - in which ads / classified / forums? Any idea?
Best regards,
Peter
