That was fast. Sounds disappointing. I am from Germany and the units are available from TRUMA all over Europe (Not 110V).
Are the units not available in Canada?
Where would I have a chance to get a unit (used) in the USA - in which ads / classified / forums? Any idea?
Best regards,
Peter
Slim to none. They are simply not available in North America as Truma North America put severe restrictions on who can install it.

It doesn't seem to be the question "who installs", but is it a new camper. Truma wrote that they do NOT sell for installation in campers that are NOT NEW (first fitting only).
That sound like NOT for refitting, whoever does the job!
I would be prepared to have it installed by a (Truma) certified shop - but who does it?

Unfortunately nobody. There is no way around it regardless of how you word it.
Combi's are exclusively installed in new RV's by the manufactured only.

There are 2 authorized Remio retailer is the US, if it's in the catalog they should be able to get it. None of this is cheap.
Truma Heater, Truma Heating

Chinese clone
JP air and water heater

Wolf air and water heater
-> Reimo has NO dealers / outlets in North-America and does NOT have the Truma 110V US type.
-> Wolf has the 230V Type only on their website ("Rated Electric Supply Voltage: -220V")
-> JP is from China (how long will it work????) and does not tell the voltage!
..... So, no luck for the US 110V so far.
Any more ideas?
Any US RV manufacturer to install it in our RV?

Winnebago installs them. But as mentioned above, I believe they are only licensed to do brand new installs. You cannot bring your van their and have them install a Truma product for you.

I have done this install and it is not complicated. However, it looks like even Tom is out of them now. Bummer, this is such a great product.

Yes, it is a great product indeed. What do you mean by: "even Tom is out of them"?
Do you have any contact where there might be a chance of buying one and / or having it installed? I could do it myself, but if installation is required - I will be happy to have it made and pay for it.

Corbatom who posts in this thread runs a store that sells Truma equipment when he can get it. I bought my unit from him and his service has been impeccable. I just checked his website though and it appears he is currently out of stock of the Combi units.

Alternatively, I have ordered parts from Leisure Shop Direct and had good success. I did not order my unti from them, but I did order a frost valve and a blanking plug from them on separate occasions. Shipping is slow, but the company is responsive and helpful.

Thank you very much.
-> Leisure Shop direct is in the UK and they seem to supply the 230V version only
-> How can I get a hold of Corbatom and his store ?
Best regards,
Peter

They changed their website from trumaheaters to

I see, you are looking for the E version that also include electric heat. So is the problem that you want to use 120VAC shore power for heating? If you have a big battery bank and that is the source of power, you could just get a 230VAC inverter.

I do not have the E version, so mine just runs with 12VDC.
Thank you very much. I guess I will have to use a 110V to 230V converter if I can not get a North-American Version of the Truma combi.

I too am a Truma user and have installed 2 of them. Very easy to do. Have you thought about using a stand alone electric heater in addition to the lp only Truma.

I can't understand the Truma marketing in NA. They are just asking for the Chinese to come in and fill the void. I love the Truma heaters and we also have a nice Truma refrigerator but I'm not big on Truma Corporate. Truma says they will not support our owner installed heaters so that is something else to consider.

I heard that TRUMA is afraid of legal action from DIY customers against them in case of any property or bodily harm which might occur as they allow DIY installations for their TRUMA combi heaters.
Sounds quite plausible to me.

I’m not sure if you are still looking for a Truma heater but I actually bought one from TrumaHeaters.com before he sold out but have decided not to use it for my build.

I have only taken it out of the box to inspect. Never used or attempted to install. Only thing I don’t have is the large box it was shipped in.

Let me know if you are interested.

It’s the Truma Combi 4 Eco. My understanding is that this is the smallest of the three options available. Trumaheaters.com (now UndermountAC.com) states that this is the same as the European Combi 4.

I will email you pictures.
