It appears that these units are starting to show up for sale. Amazon price $285. Back up camera and remote steering wheel control do not appear to be included. Wondering if I should purchase at this price, or look at several other 10+ inch units that are available.

If you have screen envy and are not afraid of an Android headunit with un-official Apple Carplay, check out the 13" CarBar Double DIN. It pivots from portrait to landscape and adjusts on the X/Y axis for the "perfect location". It has a high res IPS screen. It does X - Y Level meter, Custom Steering wheel controls, It does Reverse cam and Parking sensors, and has an OBD2 for gauges too... I havent done any measurements yet, but I think since it can be rotated, and slid up/down and left/right, you should be able to find the perfect spot.

Most of the stuff for sale on Amazon is identical to the stuff for sale on Ebay (same product, same supplier), but the Amazon things are often double the price!

I think it's because people "trust" Amazon and still think anything on Ebay is junk. Even when it's the same exact thing.

OK, I only joined for this thread; would really love a 10.1" screen on my 2018 Ford Transit 250, as long as it could work with Google Assistant, rear view camera, media controls on factory wheel, and a version of Android with Google Android Auto, and very customizable theme wise. Any advise?

websearch.
I've seen units with all those features on Ebay starting at $75. Don't play CD/DVD, though, they're just dash mounted tablets with all those apps and controls and connections, usually running Android 9.1

Shipping is usually a lot faster on Amazon compared to ebay...
Depends. I only buy from USA location. I always get stuff in less than a week.

Thank you Bill; I am just worried because I can not see anywhere that the wheel controls work with these tablets, and I worry what other features would I lose if I install anyone of these new Androids... I would LOVE if the factory wheel could call Google Assist with the call button for example.

probably have to ask the vendor. I see many have "steering wheel control interface" listed as a feature.
I haven't paid any attention to that because I don't have steering wheel controls, and don't make/take calls on speakerphone or otherwise while I'm driving, anyway. Impatient people hate me.

To the OP of this thread; how well does Google Assist work? What is your preferred method to connect the tablet to the internet? How do you actually trigger Google Assist on your device?

10+ days ago, I ordered an ATOTO A6Y1021PR from the one place I could find it listed on Amazon. 3 days later, they cancelled my order and stopped listing this unit. A week ago, I placed an order for this unit on AliExpress, via the "My ATOTO Store". Yesterday my order was closed and they wrote me to try again in 2 to 4 weeks. I am getting frustrated with waiting for this unit. I wrote ATOTO customer service again asking how and when I can purchase one. I'll take a look at the 13" CarBar Double DIN that Idlemind posted and see if it may be a good unit..

Nice specifications, but does it fit? Anyone install one in a Transit? A little pricey at $519, but it has a rediculous delivery lead time: Aug 13th to Sept 3rd.

Anyone put any other brand 10.1 unit in a Transit?

13 inch screen, that is massive!

Seems like it would have a hard time rotating but with how much it can slide and tilt maybe not. Would be great to see how this looks vertical/sideways in the van!
I mean we might as well bring a tv in, and install it with a vesa mount to the dash Mitch, what are we doing here?

That one only has Android 8.1, and for that price, I rather wait.

I just installed my 32" head unit. But it's a bit awkward to look at it...

Just kidding.

I was looking at the Dasaita 10.2
It seems to have decent specs and actually you can find some reviews on it that seem positive.

My Challenge now is how to install it in a 2020 because the GUI unit and the actual radio are now separate from each other.

Here's a bazillion choices from $80-$300

One thing we absolutely love about our Transit is the immensely capable OEM SatNav. It has all of the dirt roads, including NFS, BLM on it and it doesn't need cell signal to operate. Switching to an Android system eliminates that capability.
I prefer the convenience of being able to click on a link or address on a website or in a text message or email and start navigating from there, that's why I went Android Auto. Maybe if I had a permanent internet connection for the van I would do a full android headset but I would still be wary about putting any of my accounts in No-Name Chinese OEM equipment running a 3 year old OS that will never get security updates!

Edit: And both Android and Android auto work just fine offline as long as you remember to download the maps for the area you will be in before you set off.
