thank you sir
so is LT265/75r16 Continental Terrain Contact AT load E would fit on my 2019 transit 250?
im looking for winter tire on market place.
Can't tell you that...
I believe with stock suspension a 245 is as large as you can go without the front tires rubbing in turns and they may rub while the suspension is in compression as in going around a turn that is bumpy.

2019 T350 SRW - switched to 225/75/16 at 36k miles. Now the Van has 94k miles. The odo was 7% off, so technically I drove 7% more, 62k miles vs. the odometer indication of 58k miles. Yokohama Geolander tires. Never any issue, perfect fit, made the van look better.
I tow a 16' trailer with approx 2500lbs (max tongue weight is around 300) and never any issues. Inside I have 6 seats only and the rest is cargo area. The max I had inside the van was about 450lbs of cargo and 5 passenger (850lbs) so a total of 1300lbs. The Van is 5520lbs with 1 person. If I grossly round up the numbers, the max load was 7000lbs.
The tires are capable to hold over 10k lbs. (2680lbs/tire) way overkill.
I'm going to switch to a 235/75/16 tires with 112 Load index, (2470lbs/tire ) I am still very nearly at 10k lbs capacity with the Van's max gvw 9600.

I really wish that I could find a tire in a 235/70/16 size with similar load index (112) but sadly it does not exist. the highest is 109 which might be a tad less then I need. 2271lbs so technically enough, but I worry about my trailer towing.

I report back once I have a few hundred miles with the new tires.

5 x 245/70/16 Yokohama Geolander AT G015 load rating 118 E tires mounted on (single rear rim non-dually) 2023 AWD Transit 148 WB non-extended with Ford OEM alloy rims (except for the OEM steel spare):
No rubbing occurred and no modifications were necessary to wheel well. Vehicle is stock and not lifted. Spare does touch differential but fits spare tire mount location with a clean vertical cable lift. Any opining about a spare very snug against a differential being good, bad, ugly, or no big deal is welcome as a search on the topic did not educate me comfortably.

Do you mind sharing a pic with the tires? THX

Spoke with ULTRA WHEELS today. The Toil 450 in 16x6.5 is not available till October. In the meantime, can anyone verify the a 265/70-16 will clear the struts up front, and if not, what tire size have you been successful with if installed?
I too had had been running a 245/75-16 on the steel wheels with complete success but those are snows now worn.
Better yet, what 16" alloy have you been happy with? Thanks-Doug

I have the Ultra Toil in 16" on my 2020 RWD Transit. They are nice. Only other wheels I used on it were the OEM steels for just a couple thousand miles before switching. I'm running 255/70-16 BFG K02 tires. No rubbing anywhere.

BR- thanks for the quick reply. Looks good and fits 'well.' Curious if you have an opinion to my size inquiry. I have the common 245-75-16's going on with zero issue. Ultra no longer makes the 17x8. The 16x6.5 is the only one left for us seeking a more plain, non-beadlock look wheel. The stock steel is a 60mm positive offset and your wheel is a 45mm positive offset making that 255 permissible over the 245 no doubt. As your 255 has a width of 10.2," and a 265/70-16 that I am seeking is 10.4" in width, did you notice upon installation that there is in fact enough clearance at the most critical place; the McPherson strut. My 245 and my planned 265 are of the same diameter of 30.6 so all is good there. Just looking to do something a little different so I ask: do you see enough clearance between your tire and the strut? The staff at Ultra have no experience to comment so this thread is the deciding factor. Thanks again

About an inch between the strut and tire sidewall at the closest point with the Ultra Toil wheels and the 255/70-16 BFG K02 tires. My tires are nearly worn out so lots of clearance to the bumper plastic or pinch weld. With new tires that clearance is pretty tight but does not rub.

Thanks. Plans are looking good.

Appears both the Cooper and Yokohama 245/70/16 e rated tire lines may have now been discontinued unfortunately. Three local shops told me they are not available. As those were the only two manufacturers making that size, it is no longer available once existing stock is gone and if someone ever starts the tire list thread again they can be removed as a future option for the Ford Transit. Going with the KO2 255/70/16s I think.
