In normal mode for the transmission, it is always skipping gears. I read somewhere that the transmission can be electronically adjusted to shift through all gears. Is this the case? When it is in tow/haul mode it does shift through all gears but at a higher rpm. Not ideal for daily driving. In nomal mode it becomes more noticeable when you are coasting in traffic and then step on the gas and the transmission bangs into a lower gear to accelerate buy skiping 1 or 2 gears. Not a smooth shift by no means.

I'm not a transmission expert, but I do drive one. I would think that with 10 possible gears it would be easy to hit the accelerator while the trans is doing its shifting business. I notice in mine that things go smother if I don't rush the shifting process by applying too heavy a throttle right after decelerating.

Also, when in D and rolling, use the -button on the shift lever to display what gear the trans is in. Better than trying to guess based on feel.

My 2020 150 LR has the same character. It seems programmed to skip a gear when down shifting. I find it annoying. Why have 10 gears if they only needed 6?

Have used different pedal techniques but can't seem to smooth it out. On up and down terrain there is a lag time between pedal pushing and downshifting when starting back up the next hill. I'm pushing the pedal further and further and the tranny does nothing for a short delay then decides to skip a gear and rev me up the hill.

I have accepted it and use the manual button a lot on up and curvy mountain roads.
