What decisions should I expect to have to make when visiting a dealer to pick up my 2023 transit order?

They will run financing options for us but I also plan on having my own from a local credit union. I will also prepare insurance in advance.

Other than these, what are some things the dealer will ask us, such as extended warranties or care options? I remember when placing the order there was some fancy wax coating protection they recommended. Please also share any thoughts that you may have on these additional options.

Thanks!

The up-sell opportunities can vary widely by dealership. Some will spend hours of your time pitching things that make more money for them if you give them that time. Extended service plans, extended warranties, undercoating, ceramic coating, tinting, alarms, bolt on option stuff....

Good to see someone deciding prior to picking up the van. Really saves time for everyone involved.

Are any of the upsells potentially worth it? I am thinking no on the extended warranties and most likely no for any other upsells... in theory they all seem like ways to just squeeze more money out of me and I could get better deals elsewhere if I actually wanted the upsells.

If you looked at one of the other forum threads about customers picking up their Transit, they had a problem with their initial financing working since they considered the Transit as a commercial vehicle. If you are wanting to use the credit union as your primary financing, you might take a copy of your online window sticker and be sure they would finance it.

You don't want to get tied up with not being able to use the financing choices you are looking to use when you are at the dealership.
