SYNC microphone location

One of the unused switch locations, used Mic. that came with Kenwood head unit. Drilled a snug fitting hole, used some Hot melt glue to fix in place. (On back side so you don't see the Glue)Advantage don't have to fish wire thru the dash up the A piller, behind the head liner. View attachment 144395
Not a bad idea. I would really like to use the OEM location though as it would work better for communicating from either a standing position or the passenger seat. I also have had pretty good luck with OEM Ford Mics in all the other vehicles I've driven. Seems like they have pretty suitable noise canceling and are fairly omnidirectional.
 
I agree the stock location is better, I have base cargo van so no exsisting wiring.
Me too. That's what I'm asking about. It seems like the wiring is there, it's just lacking the microphone. The plug is empty and I am hoping that if I can get a part number for the OEM microphone it will just plug in and I can add it to my aftermarket stereo system.
