Shower Head - Looking for perfect one with on/off switch and wand, etc

Our shower is about to be installed and they are asking what shower head, etc that we would like. Has anyone found the perfect setup yet? Would like a mixer valve to set the temp. Maybe an on/off switch. Need a wand. Would like the wand not to fall off during travel, etc....maybe a water saver...??
Who has a favorite?

We used one of the Oxygenics heads in our last RV for several years. They are very popular with the RV community. They use about half the water yet have a really nice flow (they are not a mister style).

Any variety of on/off and mixer valves can be added to your system wherever they make sense for you. An important part for any shower system is a good quality and really flexible hose. Many of the hoses that come with shower heads (and most in the RV industry) are really cheap and stiff.

Here are the head and hose we used and were exceedingly happy with. We're planning to used the same in our van:

Thank you. The shower head looks like it can rotate. Great!
We have went thru a couple of shower wands all similar to this (1.8GPM) ~$20 with on off switch, has worked quite well. Minimal investment and easy to replace.
You mentioned a mixing valve, we installed a Ambassador Marine Aidack Hot/Cold Shut Off Valve/Mixer and secured to a 5"x7" mounting plate. To connect the shower hose to the wall, use a Colder quick disconnect, these are self sealing so can be disconnected under pressure with no water leak. Then duplicated the setup for the outdoor shower.

I like your mixer valve. It's small and functional. I was excited when I read about the shower wands. I have seen them under a few different names. It was confusing reading the review where people were extremely happy with them and then a few where the shower head disintegrated for one thing or another. Glad to hear that they work.
Tried a handful of heads and mounts and then added disconnects.

Thanks for fixing the post. I had started one under a wrong account. I like your mount bracket and had never thought of quick disconnects....good idea. I was wondering what to do about shower caddys. Those are better that permanently attaching them to the wall. Thank you.

I belive one of the reasons for the on/off valves that dribble water is to let you know that the hose is under pressure. Otherwise you may forget and not turn it off at the mixer.

Those hoses are not meant to be under pressure for long periods of time as they have really thin walls (probably what makes them so flexible).

Yet another vote for Oxygenics. It provides such a good spray, I also use one in my home where water usage is not as critical as in the van shower. Sometimes the shower head/wand will fall from the wall mount when on a bumpy road, so I often leave it on the van shower floor when driving.

Our shower head is similar to the one @gregoryx linked. I don’t like it as the sliding shutoff is hard to use with wet hands; it slides parallel to the length of the unit and my wet thumb usually slides over it rather than moving it unless I’m very deliberate. That may be a brand specific issue, but I’ve actually been looking for something with a trigger or push button.
