Is it possible to replace side slider with factory 60/40 side doors

This sliding door is horrible. It constantly needs adjustment, it's chipping the paint, and it is generally a pain compared to a 60/40 "normal" door.

Anyone done this yet? Or will I be the first?

My slider is great too, sounds like yours needs some warranty attention.

I haven't heard of a way to reconfigure one of the mid or high roof to double doors. I think that is a low roof only option.

Fwiw, my old Club Wagon had the double doors and they drove me nuts rattling as well as blowing around in the wind. Also really easy to ding your passenger door or the forward side door together. That being said, everyone has different needs.

I have the 60/40 doors....they do not close as well as I was expecting. I was hoping that I could just push in firmly and quietly until I hear a "click". The /40 must be slammed hard while pushing in at the handle or bottom (from the wide plastic trim on the outside), and then checked by pulling outward at the bottom. If I can pull outward about 1/4" then I know it's not latched and must repeat again until it is....sometimes requiring several tries. The /60 door then will close OK, but still requires some effort if there is no way for the air to escape....like out an open window. My rear doors close exactly the same way. NOW....I know these doors can be adjusted at the latch on the top and bottom, I may give that a try.....but if set too loose may cause problems with fit and water leak. I would prefer a tight seal.

As far as changing your slider to a 60/40.....it would probably be easier to order a new van.

My 60/40 doors close fine. I can't gently push them and get them to catch, but I can swing them shut without much force. That's the way they should be.

My right side rear door is another story. I need to swing it way too hard for it to catch at the top. The stricker can be adjusted but I'm gonna' get my dealer to fix it under warranty.

hatchet & GROOVY2,

Groovy2,

There are power sliding doors available after market. Use SEARCH above right to find links.
Be a lot cheaper than trying to change door configurations.

I recently figured out how to do the adjustment and posted it up here, somewhere... I just can't find the post. It's a VERY easy fix (adjustment).

Hatchet.. Never mind. I found the post, and you've already found it too.
