Need help with Forscan. I purchased the OBDLink Ex adapter. Downed loaded Both apps ( not sure why I needed to do both but the instructions made it seem necessary???) I am using the free windows version of Forscan BTW

Comparing everything I see online, Forscan appears to be connected and reading my vehicle but for the life of me cant find anything where a normal human can make any adjustments. Everywhere I click seems too technical for me.
I thought I would of found a straight forward list somewhat resembling a parts list diagram breakdown on a site like RockAuto.

Forscan for mechanics only, One mistake and your van may never run again.
There are a number of past transit forum threads that explain how to use it.
Michaels advice is spot on, there are many Forscan discussions both in this Forum and elsewhere that you can explore and learn little by little.

What year is your van? Post-'20 vans have different options than previous years.

The As Built sections in Forscan are the coding areas that are not simple to understand.
This is when hooked up to a 2015, the other sections have more understandable descriptions.

I did it the other day for police dark mode/silent and turned the start/stop off. You have to click on 3rd from the bottom computer chip square. Once in there like @asdrew said click on the main and not the as built. From there you need to highlight what you want to change click the bottom left make changes it asks if you want to then you click the load it next to the change, then it will have you turn the key off and back on.

Watch a youtube vid from f150 guys.

What does police dark silent mode do? Anyway, I upgraded to two AGMs from one FLA. I got the now 2.+ version of Forscan with extended license, and using the NOT AS BUILT set it to AGM From FLA, also changed 80% to 95% SOC. I couldn’t find the H7 setting, I think that is in an older version of Forscan. However, I did set multibattery to 2, with one sensor. I’ve been monitoring amps in after draining down. I’ve seen as high as 15amp and 14.9V coming in from the alternator. I got a battery maintainer for AGMs, and I’ve hook It to the front battery (negative and sensors are on the back battery). Anyone else have any other insights. Are there 2BMS sensors in the standard FLA set-up or just one?

I used FORScan for the first time two weeks ago to disable lights/horn honk when locking/unlocking my 2022 Transit doors when camping. I’m happy with the changes. I can’t help much with FORScan since this was my first time using it. If it helps someone, here are my notes:

FORScan > Configuration and Programming (computer chip icon)

IPC Module Configuration > Silent Mode Police Telltale > Enable
IPC Module Configuration > Silent Mode Control Function > Enable

Now using steering wheel controls:
Down arrow to Settings > Vehicle settings > Silent Mode > On/Off
When Silent mode on, no exterior lights, horn honk, or dash lights come on when using key fob to lock/unlock except for 12” dash screen display.

Additional Notes:
Used FORScan v2.3.53 with Extended license with OBDLinkEX scan tool.

BCMii Module Configuration > Police Dark Car Mode > Disable (tried enabling this, but did not notice any obvious changes to van so returned to factory default setting of Disable).

BCMii Module Configuration > Police DRL > Enable (unchanged from factory default setting).

Thanks for these instructions. (y) I just did the same thing successfully on my 2021 Transit and tested the results. No exterior OR interior lights turn on except the center dash screen. And no horn honk either.

I'm excited to stop the late night fireworks display that our van has been putting on at campgrounds the past couple of months!

I tried the police dark car mode and I missed the locking confirmation blink from the parking lights. Maybe I'm OCD but I need that confirmation or I can't stop wondering if it actually locked.
Silent mode however changed my life for the better. I like to jump in the van and start the engine, then strap on the seat belt, adjust mirrors etc while the engine gets settled, without the chime. I also often open the door with the key in the ignition, no chime. The only chimes enabled are the parking brake on/shift into drive chime and the headlights on/ ignition off reminder.
I solved the problem of the cargo lights with a physical switch spliced into the harness, because sometimes I want them to come on and sometimes I don't.
