Hello everybody,

I have a 2021 Coachman Beyond 22C RV, which is built on the Ford Transit chassis, and the rear couch reclines into a bed. The bed does not feel flat to me. It makes for an uncomfortable nights sleep. It feels to me that the back of the couch, when reclined, does not go all the way flat. Does anyone else experience this and has anyone come up with a way to make this bed flat, or to remodel the bed somehow? Thank you.

In the pics I could find, the couch in the 22c looks like it folds flat. Maybe something is caught above the frame when the backrest folds down? Keeping it from lowering?

Either way, in my experience, folding RV furniture is rarely ideal for sleeping. You may find a huge improvement with a good memory foam topper for it. That’s how I “fixed” the sleeper sofas in my trailer.
Thank you for your feedback! I'll definitely check to see if anything is in the way of the back seat cushion coming all the way to a flat position.

I did place a mattress on top of the folding RV furniture, made of 2" of mattress foam + a memory foam topper over that and still the unleveled surface transfers through these two layers of foam.
