Factory speaker wiring location

Hi everyone,
I am looking to add a powered subwoofer to my cargo van. I was wondering if anyone that has done that already would be willing to share where they picked up the sound signal from. I am trying to figure that out before tearing into door panels and such. Thank you for your time and please add links to you own similar builds.

I used a combination of the info in the pics to install an inline sub. I know I accessed one speakers wires behind the rear panel with the cargo light switch. I think I accessed the other speaker behind the panel on opposite side of the switch panel. I doubled checked the colors of the wires on the rear speakers then found them in the rear columns. This is on a 2023.

Tap the rear door speaker wires for the signal. It's the easiest access point. Run them to the sub's high-level inputs.

powered sub or separate amp? if separate, does it have high level (speaker level) inputs? if not will you be using a line out converter (loc)?

are you only planning on adding the sub or do you want to upgrade the other speakers?

if you are adding a powered sub, pick up the signal from the closest speaker. if you are planning on more get a wiring harness (such as the plug n play harness)

Cargo vans don't come with any rear speakers installed even if you order them they come in a box.
So splicing the wires in the harness is the only way.
I plan to add a power sub. That was a huge improvement to my F150.

My cargo came with rear speakers installed.

I believe if you order the RV package with mid-speakers, those come in a box.

Yes, in a box with wires that need sliced.

note the fact that when mid and rear speakers are installed, they are connected in serial. if the van comes with rear, but not mid speakers, there is a service loop int he harness to connect to. since it passes through the loop, cutting it will result in loss of the rear speaker...gotta have the loop or mid speakers installed

I have a 25 Cargo LWB with RV prep, got 2 speakers in a box.
So I would have the loop in the middle?

i just recently learned about the speakers in a box delivery...that is lame

look for the rear speaker wires behind the rear door panels...if they are there you can use them or look mid van for the loop (all part of the same harness). the loop for the mids is provided to be cut...so you dont have to tap into a speaker wire (so no added resistance)

if there is no wiring you have to look farther forward. at that point getting a harness makes sense. tapping into the front speakers before it goes to the door means you have to take the center of the dash apart anyways and using a harness with factory plugs will give you the best connections and preserve your harness. it will also give you full right/left and front/rear connections, so you can add speakers or drive a line out converter/amp with high level inputs

mine came with rear speakers so i am not familiar with having to turn on the rear speaker output in forscan...but i hear it is a thing

I think by getting rear speakers they will be turned on. I hope.
I haven't used forscan, I bought the plug to use on my F150 but never did it.
I have a W11 laptop and retired from IT, which is why I don't want to do computer stuff. Lol.
