I can not believe this My dealer just received 2 transits that were built 16 & 17 days after my transit(12/18/14 & 12/19/14 vs. 12/2/14) and mine sits, paid for, at the rail yard waiting for a railcar to be shipped. I don't care what I have to do this is needs to be explained to me. Pete and crewvanman add this to your list of WTF!!!! The other part of it is one of them is a diesel that THEY DID NOT EVEN ORDER!!!!!!! Ford just sent it to them per the commercial sales manager. If anyone has any info on how to contact anyone who can help me with this please do. The ford regional customer care rep will not even return my calls when he was supposed to call me Tuesday with an update on my van. I am going to call every number I can find for ford today until I get some one who is willing to help me with this. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!

BW5, as I re-read the recent posts, it seems to me that you need to meet with your dealer and watch them as they go on the computer, using your VIN, and ask for the two different reports. Something is not adding up here IMO.

Trust and verify . . .

Edit -- ditto to CVM about getting the Fourth Estate involved.

In answer to your post #19 ........

Would love to see the Track a Vehicle by VIN report
I would hate to be a dealer and say that" I can't locate a TRANSIT that you paid for"

Hoping my Commercial contact can access the VIN so we will know what's going on with BW5s Transit

Just got off the phone with the sales manager Requested the track a vehicle by vin report be sent to me via email ASAP. Made sure he had been made aware of the promised meeting for Monday( He had not.) Also confronted him on my upfit rebate because I was told by my salesman that the rebate was only good if a 3rd party installer installed the bulkhead & shelves I wanted. It has come to my understanding this is not the case and I am demanding a refund for the labor & I will install them myself. I will post the tracking report as soon as I receive it, that is if I receive it.

You might consider contacting Michael Martinez:

Ford's Transit Van continues E-Series' success

Good luck!

Edit -- although the Detroit press as auto cheerleaders may be disinclined to pull open the Emperor's bureau drawers . . .

I just did.
And I did tell him that I am NOT the Detroit News editorial writer Allan Adler listed here:

Contact The Detroit News | The Detroit News

and also not the General Motors Spokesman Alan Adler
quoted here:

I AM however the Alan Adler featured in the Wall Street Journal, but I didn't bother to share that:

How about writing the author of your article to see if the WSJ has a business/auto writer who would be interested in BW5's plight, perhaps Dan Neil? [interesting article]

Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: Big Vans, Big Ideas - WSJ

Note the surfing in Costa Rica aspect!

She's no longer with the WSJ, but maybe I'll ask her who I should contact at that publication. Thanks for the suggestion.
Peter, I know where my vehicle is it is sitting at the rail yard waiting for a rail car (1st in, last out BS!) so now because of the railcar shortage it will sit there while more vehicles that have been built later stack up in front of it until the available railcar spots out number the number of vehicles put in after mine. The reason I have not gotten a status report is because it no longer exists! I had to pay for my van before the end of the year for tax purposes. When this happens and the dealer pays ford to get it off their floor plan and my vehicle is considered sold, delivered and in my hands and is taken off the daily status roles and my dealer can no longer track it! The only help I need now is phone #'s, contacts whatever to someone at ford that can help explain this whole fiasco to me and hopefully start the ball rolling to change the way they are treating their customers.
Might want to check with an accountant. Last I heard, it's not when you pay for it, it's when you put it into service.

That is what my accountant told me when I first was ticked about ford not meeting my their promise date. I have a feeling different accountants either interpret the law differently or maybe some are more willing to push a grey area.
Passed by the Forney Distribution Center yesterday and they were unloading some Transits. I made a pass around the back of the lot to get a better view and saw something that we on the forum may not have considered about delays on our vehicles......

Wrecked on the lot!

Now here was a Focus that was back in a area by the inspection building that had front end damage. I am sure that they may have some accidents on the lot in Kansas City with all the movements of Transits on the lot.

Is BW5s Transit in this situation? All excuses about it being at the lot and not moved?

Was it Ingot Silver, MH, 148WB, with Alloy Wheels?

Not all is lost. Found this:

"Jan 1, 2015 - As of midnight, the Section 179 limit has been reduced to $25,000 and no bonus depreciation is available for the 2015 tax year. Stay tuned, if prior years are any indication, the expanded Section 179 limits could be restored by Congress during 2015."

CrewVanMan said he saw a Focus on the lot, not a Transit.

i have your vin....fka36159 and it looked to clear etis 12/2/2014.
Is your transit at the kansas city plant location or the regional distribution center?

Go to your dealer, maguire ford, and get them to print the vin history on your transit. I need to know where it is now......exact location.
Ford has control of the kansas city plant distribution, but the regional center has control once it is offloaded from the rail car.
If it is at the regional center, they can call and get it delivered by special request.
they can get trucked spec delivery!
OK here we go again! 10:30AM this morning I was contacted by my salesman he stated that they had contacted the Ford Business Relationship Center and another priority case # had bee assigned to my Transit. He stated that they are supposed to contact him within two hours of the case being assigned. He said he would contact me one way or another as soon as he heard from them later today. 2:55PM my salesman calls tells me no response from the case #and that per the regional sales rep my Van was loaded on a railcar Saturday or Sunday but has not moved. I requested the rail company's name and the railcar #. He said he had neither and could not get them because ford has been paid for my van. He could only tell me what the regional sales rep had said which is my van was loaded and I should see it in 10 days to 2 weeks(See my previous posts about the regional sales rep if you want to know how worthless she is). I requested the Track Vehicle History by VIN report he said he had no idea what that was or how to get it and again reminded me they have no way to track or see anything about my van because they had paid ford for it.

Thanks for the update BW5, although Ford's actions here continue to blow the mind . . .

Hopefully CrewVanMan's contacts in Dearborn can access Ford's computers at a higher level than the dealer has access to, apparently.

PS -- Did you print out the sample "Track a Vehicle -- Full History" report from Sweetb728, and show (email) it to the salesman? Do we buy his story that he does not know what this report is?

NEXT!! I tried to contact my regional ford customer care rep again( still no response he was supposed to contact me on 1/6/15. I have left at least 2 messages a day with him since 1/7 contacted his supervisor 1/15 still no contact from him. Called ford customer care was connected to Jessica explained my situation to her she started a new case number put me on hold was transferred to a voicemail box asked to leave info and was disconnected. Called FCC again was connected to Anita (This woman is the absolute best Customer relations person I have ever dealt with!!!!) I explained my situation again and my dealings with Jessica. She said she would do everything in her power to help me. I now Have a new priority case # with notations that my previous regional rep has been in effective and she cc it to the customer care review board. I am now waiting again for a promised contact from a regional ford customer care rep by close of business tomorrow. If not I am to call FCC again with my case # and it will be elevated further what ever good that will do.

PeterR, re-read post #36 my salesman said he does not even no what that report is and even if he did they can not get any info on my van because they paid ford for it. The sales manager the other day tried and was unsuccessful they have no way to get info on my van now at the dealership. They have to call others to get it.

Yeah, I understood about their (supposed) inability to access your vehicle info. by the VIN. I don't buy it, but maybe Ford cuts off their computer access to your VIN after a complete sale, as you suggest.

I was actually re-asking specifically about the salesman's claim that he did not even know about this type of report at all -- Track a Vehicle -- Full History -- if I have read you correctly.

Then there is the issue whether the computer database is open to higher levels at Ford who still have access to your VIN for various reports.

You can bet that the quarterly and year-end reports for the dealer's sales will include a line item for your VIN. And they are telling you they have no access at all to ANY information about your vehicle. Does not compute IMO!
