Not sure, but, I think someone here had had a windshield replaced. Which means, they must be out there. Have you checked through a regular glass supplier or a body shop... someone other than the dealership?
That was me. Took a rock to windshield last spring. Windshield replaced by safellite. My only issue was they initially ordered wrong windshield. Windshield replaced within 1 wk.

I Own an Auto Glass Business, There are only 4 Windshield options per roof height. All of them are in stock at my Distributor in St Paul MN. These Windshields are actually pretty cheap for the size and being a Brand new Model, (The Transit Connect Windshields are 4 times higher).
You have the Lane Departure Warning System. NAGS part number for Low roof is DW2108. Mid Roof, DW2112 and High Roof is DW2116
What to ask for.... CARLITE This is the brand Ford installs at the factory, So ask for a Carlite Windshield. You want a company that will WIRE the old windshield out, Transits have an exposed edge Windshield... Meaning there is NO molding and cutting this out the old way will scratch the body and cause rust. We use a Wire cut out system for The Transits and it removes the Windshield without damaging the paint. The Dealer Carlite part numbers will be different than the NAGS numbers but they are EXACTLY the same, I don't know of a single dealer that does their own Windshield replacements, They call us!!! and You will Pay more... A LOT MORE. So call your local Auto Glass Shop, I would prefer a LOCALLY owned company. When The Tech arrives at your home or work, simply ask to look at the sticker. Remember Carlite. on the sticker and what we call the Bug (Small logo with the DOT code etc) Will also say Carlite or have the Ford Oval in the Bug. Good luck

Thanks for the info packerbacker, good stuff to know.
The windshield business is interesting - had a 96 Civic years ago my son wrecked, air bag went off and broke the windshield- I was putting the car back together and went to a local windshield place- they asked who was paying for this, me or insurance. They said if it was insurance it was $700, if it was me it was $200. I was stunned- no wonder insurance is so high!

I too broke my windshield and am having trouble finding a replacement. I'm near San Jose, California. Not sure who your distributor is, but if you could make a referral, that would be awesome thanks!

I'm getting my new windshield on Wed. I swear it was a meteorite. Tooling down the four-lane, no cars in sight, much less around, and BAM! Might have been an eagle dropping a rock?

I'm not totally opposed to that after my Safelite/Portland glass experience. In the end I ended up with an oem CarLite windshield with Ford logo.
The question becomes does Ford want to invest in the infrastructure/training necessary to deal with insurance companies... my bet is nope.

the manufactures are just day dreaming about one possible future, one where all repairs, whether in warranty or not, are done by the manufacturer or factory authorized service centers. and right now it is all about locking down all of the loose ends (windshields) to make this work. the main part of this idea is the engine computer software which they already control, they own that software whether the vehicle is new or 20 years old!
John Deere Tractor has already had limited success at making this idea work, the factory engine service manuals for the newer models are locked down and diagnostic tools can only be purchased them. (none are for sale!)
i have also saw this concerning some industrial machines, you have to plug a phone line into the machine and let the factory run diagnostics, then they tell you how to fix the machine. (so they still earn a profit after the machine is out of warranty!)
