I got a pair of FoMoCo visors not long after buying Fergus.

I've just removed them. I have come to the conclusion that their sole purpose must be to allow you to drive with the window partly open without getting buffeted too much by the wind. For this purpose, they may be satisfactory: I don't know, that isn't why I bought them.

My purpose in buying them was to allow me to have the front windows open slightly for ventilation purposes while parked, and to be able to keep those windows open even if the wind blew the rain at an angle. The aftermarket visors I had on my old Honda Odyssey enabled me to do this: they overlapped the top of the windows by a couple of inches or more. The Ford visors don't. They don't seem to come down any further than the top of the window, and that is useless.

In addition, the stickum didn't: it progressively failed as the months passed by.

I should be interested to know if any members have found some visors that will meet my needs.

I still have the one on the passenger side. The driver side started to come off. I finished the process. You can drive in the rain with the window open a few inches. That's all they are good for. In 4 or 5 months when/if it rains again I might put it back.

One of mine came loose while driving thru a major storm. I bought some more of the double side tape and put it back on, this time made 100% sure all surfaces where clean and wax free. Has stayed on since. Was also the drivers side, passenger side has been fine.

My driver's side came off a week or two ago. Started out seeing a little wiggle at the end, but it was well attached. Turned out it was the OTHER end (top/back) that was coming loose and somehow it wiggling was causing the front end to also wiggle. I procrastinated a bit on fixing it and the thing flew off while driving down the road. I retrieved it - just after someone ran over it! Pretty tough, just got some chips / pits. Haven't put it back on though.

Passenger side is - so far - still stuck on fine. Seems to be a trend, wonder why?

Mine do a pretty good job of keeping the rain out when parked. I was sitting in my van one evening when a storm started - wanted to see what it sounded like inside! Had the passenger seat swiveled around, so was sitting right beside the window. With the window facing south, and a south wind, I was able to roll the window down several inches with only some very fine mist coming in during the heaviest part of the storm. There was a clear line where the rain started hitting the window about 4-5" below the top of the window opening.

With the window up in the "usual" position - about 3/4-1" open - just enough for the MaxxAir fan on low - it was perfectly dry inside throughout the storm.

I've had them on my van since October and really like them for camping and parking in the rain. I regularly leave my windows open 3-4 inches and rarely have any water get in. I think it would have to be pretty windy for any significant rain to get in as they stick out pretty far even though they don't come down that low.
I've had no problems with the adhesive, but I was pretty careful installing them and it rarely gets over 100f here.
The only downside so far is that they do limit visibility a bit at intersections so I have to move my head around a bit to see past them.

Mine work fine. They keep the rain out unless the rain is really being blown hard against the side of the window. Then I just put that side up with only about a 1" gap and put the other side down down a little further than normal.

Mine also came loose after about 6 months. I reinstalled them with 1/2" wide 3M Super Strength Molding Tape. This time I made sure to do a better job cleaning the door surface before applying. I also went back and forth applying pressure to make sure it was properly bonded.

Thank you, everyone, for your contributions. Based on your experiences, I bought some of the 3M "extreme" tape and the visors are back on Fergus. I'll see how low the windows can go without the rain coming in.

Phooey... The passenger side visor came off today! Fortunately NOT while I was flying down the highway, instead I noticed the back half of it waving wildly in the breeze while on a relatively quiet 45 MPH road so was able to stop and pull it off before any damage resulted.

The tape on the front half was still quite well adhered, don't know if the installer just didn't prep the door right, or what...

Still haven't reattached my drivers side one (but it's banged up pretty good too). Not sure if I'll bother now... :|

I've had these on vehicles. I think the main purpose is for smokers on the highway. A little suction to draw out the smoke. I run the defrost for air or the vent fan in the rain. I see no reason to open the windows other than going thru a fast food place.
