Hello from mid-Michigan...

As my wife and I age we find our transportation needs changing. We had boats and truck campers, but it isn't so easy to get up and down as it used to be and long trips have become fewer and fewer because we need more and more pit stops. :(
Price rules out most Class B motorhomes and van conversions.
So, it'l be a Transit Wagon, a porta-potti in the back and probably wheel chair lift sooner or later.

I will be attending the July Ride and Drive in Dearborn (afternoon session 'cause I don't get up early any more).

Dale,

Welcome to the Transit forums. We have a small yet growing group so far as all of us await the Transit.

I'll be interested to read your thoughts on the Ride and Drive in July. I haven't driven one yet.

I'll be there for the 9:30 session. Maybe we'll cross paths.

Longboard, perhaps we will cross paths there. Your thoughts have been invaluable helping us figure out just what we what to do for a vehicle. Thanks.

Dearborn Dude, while I haven't ridden in one either, I figure if Car and Driver actually likes a van, it must be something special!

Bobojay, I did. You described it well and I hope to get as much from my visit as you got from yours.

Very cool that the Ford Transit will be able to meet all of your needs. How are you going to go about modifying the Transit Wagon once you get it. Is this a DIY job or are you taking it to some type of specialist to have them outfit it for you?

"Hi!"

I am Ray from Riverside CA. Most of my life I have been an off-road Jeep owner. Now that I am getting older, I am looking for smooth roads and comfort. Since I still enjoy camping and fishing, I needed to find a vehicle that can handle my activities and still be a gas miser. My wife growls at me that we no longer have small children to deal with, therefore a minivan is not a practical selection. I replied that I need a multi-purpose vehicle and the Transit Connect seems to fit the bill. Besides, it's not a minivan, it's an "Un"minivan!

My ride is currently being built in Valencia Spain. When I receive it from the factory, I will stylize my hoopty like a road rally car like the WRC WRC.com® - The Official WRC® Website - wrc.com
