I have the single CD stereo with sync, 4 inch screen. Seriously, who designed this thing? Whoever it was clearly never tried using it, never tried navigating the menus, and certainly never attached a phone to the system to play music in any of the three possible Sync connections. What a bunch of baloney.

Looking into getting the Alpine stereo with Apple CarPlay and Siri capability.

When you get a system which mounts nicely and can integrate the rear view camera, please post your review.

I got the same system since I really wanted USB, at a minimum. I have many specific complaints, such as: 1) sync voice control is easily confused and goes down hill from there if it does not understand, 2) if you are shuffling through your USB stick (I have a 64 GB connected) and you switch shuffle OFF, it does not continue to play that album, but rather seems to continue to shuffle (or more specifically, does not continue with that album and artist in order; its version of Non-Shuffle is confused), 3) turn radio back on and it often forgets you were listening to the USB stick, 4) if you connect the stick it takes some time for it to register everything and says "unsupported device" or "unsupported encoding" if you ask it to play the USB before it is ready. Whatever happened to cars providing a simple DIN or double DIN mount. Everybody has to have their custom dash shapes to force you into their radios.

I have the least cost option over the base radio. Option 58V is a single CD radio. I wanted the 4" digital screen (which is too small) but did not want any of the Siri, Sync, My Ford or other fancy doodads.

I am very pleased with this radio choice. Unfortunately the owners manual does not have instructions for this radio choice but I have been able to figure most of it out.

I am also disappointed with this cd, radio, phone & display which is ( i believe ) designed by Microsoft.
I'm still challenged by basic things like: how to dim the display, or navigate to bluetooth audio.

I'm looking to upgrade when proven vendors provide a reasonable solution.

Investigated this today. Ford's version of non-shuffle on USB stick is alphabetical order by song name. You randomly step between artists while getting every song in alphabetical order. Wish there was a configuration setting as to the order non-shuffle went in. Options should be: 1) artist->album->song 2) folder->songs, 3) OK, what they do, which is stupid.

It's the same way playing music through the USB from an iPhone. And yeah, it's stupid. Who listens to music in alphabetical order? That's the same as shuffle as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed, this will be high on my list of things to replace just as soon as a good alternative appears. It'd be nice if we could just buy the radio prep package separately without having to custom order a whole van!

Hit the voice command button on your steering wheel and say 'bluetooth audio' and Voila!

Love it and use it all the time.

To navigate to bluetooth audio just push the aux button and it will toggle between aux input, bluetooth audio and usb audio, to dim the display just dim it by dimming the dash cluster.

On my Wagon with MFT, it is the "Source" button. Also per onetwo's earlier suggestion, if you have Sync with the voice command function, you can simply say "Bluetooth Audio" and Sync will take it from there . . . one of the best suggestions I have read here . . . thanks onetwo, have a good weekend.

the voice command is a joke. It can't understand half of what I say. more frustrating than the fact that I have to hit 26 buttons to listen to bt audio, and once I finally get it playing, it has to play in alphabetical order.

Apparently Ford doesn't give a ****. The parts are unavailable to everyone, including dealers. You must buy your transit with the radio delete or you just have to deal with what you got. Getting pretty unsatisfied with this.

Seems like the base radio would allow a single din after market radio upgrade - it's the same plastic as the radio delete option. Ford's radio upgrade options is where fitment problems arise and custom radios to fit are highly unlikely. If Ford won't sell the plastic parts some one will have to make them.

I found it hard to believe Ford doesn't even offer HD FM in it's shitty radios
