The 55" 2nd row reclineable seat is plenty comfortable and I've sat between 2 car seats on it no problem, but I'm not large. It also has an armrest on one end and the outer locations have child seat LATCH points.

The 62" bench from the rear of an 8 passenger is going to have a bit more room, but I'm not sure if it would be more comfortable in vinyl with a fixed back. It does not have ANY LATCH points.

Both seats have child seat anchor points on the backs, though.

If it was going to regularly be used for 3 larger adults, I would say the 62" vinyl one, but for what you describe I personally think the 55" cloth one is nicer and worth $100 more.

fwiw the spacing of the third support is slightly different between the two.

Hi,
I am going to upfit Promaster with Transit 3 person seat bench. Hope you guys can help choose the bench.

I am choosing between this 55" reclineable:

and 62" fixed bench:

I am leaning towards reclinable, but wondering if its not too narrow for 2 kids and 1 adult. Any real world experience?
I believe the 62 inch is basically what we have as the back row of our 10 passenger as well (although our's is reclinable with leather). While I imagine the 55inch will work fine, I can tell you that I can fit quite comfortably between two car seats in the back of ours. I'm 5'10", 210 lbs, so not huge but not a stick either. I think the reclining option is the real question, as both sizes will probably suit you.

That's the same guy I bought my 2 seater from. Talked him down from $300 to $200. Very nice guy to do business with. I would go with the reclining seat, narrower makes it easier to get in the back.
