which options do you wish you had ordered?

Title says it all.

For me it's privacy glass. I ordered 'tinted glass' thinking it would look tinted but it's nearly clear. We're having a tint shop do the windows soon. It gets hot in the back and people can see right in. It's going to be half the price of the factory privacy glass but I'm worried it will get scratched.

I too wish I had privacy glass for the rear windows and passenger and driver door. Kicking myself. I will be tinting it, but I know for sure, the rear will get all scratched up as its used for cargo.

Also, wishing I got the MFT option with the bigger screen. the 4" screen is pathetically small.

thats pretty much it.

Where and Who? I have not found anyone who sells the parts....I would give vital parts of my anatomy for it...

www.powerdoorandstep.com has the power sliding door and if you are in Southern CA, he has a special offer for the forum members

He is wanting to do a video of a installation and is giving special pricing on the unit and installation, but you have to take your Transit to them for the work.

They also have a power sliding step for the side door.

These guys were at the 2014 SEMA Show and were trying to get a Transit for a install to display in their booth. I stopped by there and looked at the install on the Sprinter. I am sure if you would let them use your Transit for display in November at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, you could get a really good price and install on one!

CrewVanMan is referring to this thread:

Also USMC Vet is having an after-market slider installed I believe, and he should be able to give you the details.

hawkeng,

As CrewVanMan & PeterR, posted, here is the sight.

Find a mobility upfitter, or just an upfitter in your area. They can order it and if competent, install it.

4.10 rear axle and short arm mirrors

and also roof windows

What engine do you have ? Do you haul/tow heavy loads ?
Wish mine had privacy glass, trailer hitch, RADIO DELETE because SYNC SUCKS, woulda liked the dual battery/HD alternator but can do without..

The good options were cargo lights, cargo area lined, 6 speakers, power long arm heated mirrors, the dual lighted vanity mirror visors..
I have the 3.7L engine and I am usually loaded about 8200-9000 pounds. The engine is powerful, but needs more revs to do it. The 4.10 seems like a good match to the powerband. The 3.73 aren't a real bummer, but third gear is a smidge tall in my application. So moving all the gears up a bit would be nice running near GVWR (and above!)
More opening windows, there's just no way to vent air in the rear.

A way that works very well is to cut a 4" x 4" hole in the floor. Mine is located just in front of the left rear wheel. A plywood cover operated by a lawn mower cord will open/close the air vent hole. Works best with a roof vent so air flow is up out of the hole and out the roof vent. The roof vent does not need to run, just open. Can be used when raining if roof vent is Maxxair.

Could you not just go to an auto glass place and have them replace the glass with genuine OEM privacy glass?

Or is that way too expensive?

Anybody get a van with no windows and install them? That hard or expensive?

We had ours tinted for all of $300. It looks so much better and it stays nice and cool in the back. When the van was a fishbowl with all that clear glass the a/c couldn't keep up. I'm not sure if the factory privacy glass filters uv light but our tint does, I'm really pleased with it. It's nice not to have to put sunblock on a kid sitting by a huge window on a road trip.
My problem is... the AC vents are in the roof and tthere is no room in the rear for a roof vent. Down side of the conversion package. The only place for a vent is right behind the driver/passenger.

You could scrap the duct and route your own from the blower in the back. That's what I was planning on doing back when I originally ordered rear air and was told the order was locked in as is.
Turned out the order was not locked, so I deleted rear air and heat.
Then we found out that in the van unlike the wagon there is no duct, the a/c just blows right out of the blower at the rear left floor area with a slight vertical duct. You could do that too.
Roof fans are great...I have two of them, usually one sucking in, the other blowing out.
