OK, so i'm over at another forum and someone is sharing all his time behind the wheel of a "Step Van". Yea i do like the idea of all that room behind the cab, but most are a bit _ugly_. Anywhooooo...i'm doing some doodling and come across this thing called a "Ford Transit Delivery Truck" available off the lot in Missouri. It looks allot like the UK version of the full sized Transit but the roof line is just a bit different?? This was is listed as a diesel.

Here is the link:
New 2015 Ford 14' Delivery Truck (Parcel Van)
detail for www.magtrucks.com/vehicles/detail/437/

and here is a picture as an attachment...i took a screen shot.

HUMMMM.....

OH, and they have a gas 3.7L model for sale also. Same body:

That picture doesn't look like the 2015 Transit model at all, nor does it look like a 14 foot box to me. That picture looks like the previous model of Transit sold in UK and other countries in Europe. I'm guessing it's just a picture posting mistake by dealer staff. If you notice the specifications don't match picture. Total length can't be 266 inches, nor does height match either.

I was thinking along the same lines. More like a 148" LB at 12ft. And the idea of it being built at the Turkey plant is interesting. I wonder why they didn't become more popular, or if that is a newly stocked item by that step-van/box-truck dealer.

That's simply a picture of the outgoing Transit. The dealer made an error.

All Transits for Europe will be made at the Turkey plant. All the previous Transits had been made in the British plant, but Ford has now closed that plant and will be outsourcing all future European Transits to Turkey. Pretty sad.

The two vans you are referring to in above posts appear to me, based on specs, to be nothing more than US 2015 long wheelbase extended vans with the high roof. One has single rear wheels and the other duals. You can tell from van widths and gross vehicle weight ratings. The posted pictures have to be wrong.

The European Transit in the pictures were never imported for distribution to US as far as I know but were very popular in other parts of the world. We didn't get them because we had the Econoline instead. Ford Transits have been very popular for decades -- just not here in USA.
