I have had my XLT wagon for a week now and thanks to this forum have found out a lot about details not in the user manual(s).

One thing that has me stumped is the slot under the screen - a credit card fits in it - i haven't pushed it all the way in for fear that Ford will either eat the card or charge me somehow.

Anyone know it's purpose?

Thanks

I think it has to do with the old my ford touch system. They need to access it to update the Nav. The new sync 3 doesn't have it, in its place is the passenger airbag light.

I have it in my wagon (with Sync 3). I love it! I used to hold any card I needed handy (Nexus card, credit card) under my leg when driving so that I didn't have to fumble for it. Now I put it there - very convenient!!

Our wagon with Sync 3 has it too and the dealer specifically pointed it out and its use as I and pgpalmer pointed out above.

Anyone have issues with the touch screen? 2015 350 Transit XLT with SYNC.
My first experience with SYNC and a touch screen.
It takes me 3 to 6 pokes, not gentle either, with my finger to get the screen to accept my touch. I tried just holding my finger there for several seconds to see if I was actually punching it too hard but it didn't recognize my touch at all.
Kind of a nuisance while driving.
I have actually had to pull off the road to change settings it is so bad.
My husband's car, won't say the make/model, is really super sensitive to your touch.
Nothing like this Transit.
I don't see any way to change settings for sensitivity.

I actually called Ford's SYNC customer support line to ask this very question. It stumped the nice lady who was otherwise quite knowledgeable about the system. She said she would research it and call me back. Sure enough, she called back the next day following her research and said that it's designed and intended to hold business cards.
There you go -- straight from Ford !

This was one of the major complaints about the older SYNC system. The system was very laggy, it was slow to respond to button presses, so forth.

The new (as of 2016 in Transits) SYNC 3 system is MUCH more responsive. Unfortunately it isn't a quick-n-easy upgrade...

I guess that in the 2016 model they get rid of the slot - as my van has an illuminated passenger airbag sign in that position.

Guys, how to choose the right method of depositing in an online casino? Can I believe in what they write here https://casinoanalyser.com/casino-deposit-methods? Many online casinos work with QIWI. This payment system has a lot of advantages. Most often, casinos do not charge additional fees when transferring profits to a QIWI wallet. Funds quickly reach the account in full. And if I choose a casino there, can I use this payment system or not? Thank you for helping me with your advice.

I have this slot in my 2017 15 passenger wagon under my sync 3 screen.

Its perfect for turnpike tickets.

It is still there in other model years, it has to do with which radio is in place. My 2018 with nav has it.

Hmm... maybe it also has to do with vans vs. wagons, which don't have the option to disable the passenger airbag.
