I ordered my transit about a month ago and the fleet guy told me that when it went into production they would email me a VIN number so that I can track where it is at in production.
Has anyone who put an order in for a transit actually received a VIN number yet?
Just curious.

Chad, also waiting 1 month. Requested model and options may determine production time.
From another source I learned that production is divided in 3 groups each 1 month apart. Each group includes specific models.

I have heard the same about different models starting production at different times. The fleet guy said he had no way of knowing when to expect the vin on this van and that he just checks for updates each week for me. I ordered the short wheel base wagon that seats 8 medium roof so it might be the last batch to go into production. Who knows right? I can hope that it will be before the end of summer though still.... Right? Haha

I got an email from my fleet guy and he said he is going to contact the inventory guys and see if he can get any kind of update on where my van is in line for production so hopefully I'll get at least some sort of news soon! I'll keep you guys posted as well.

Thanks Chad for the update. I am interested in the same short wheel base wagon with medium roof, and it is certainly discouraging that you just got your VIN -- FOUR MONTHS after your order! Ford has not dropped the ball here it seems, but has forgotten that other players are even in the game . . .

I knew we were months away when I put the order in. They didn't even start workin on the wagons until the beginning of august so I wasn't surprised in waiting this long, now that it's getting close and moving I'm getting excited and want to be kept up to date.

They won't show anything on your order until the vin is assigned (at least they didn't on mine)

I have a vin # , a build date, and a delivery date. So I just followed the link above to confirm. I also get "no matching vehicle. It asks for a 17 digit vin, and I thought mine looked too short but on the real print out from the dealer it lists the vin# but only 7 digits. Is there some special code that goes before or after those seven? Of the seven three are R3X which is High Roof EL T250 single slider.

I missed the edit window once again, but I want to add that the order number also yields no match.

Not just the site in my opinion, this entire process is SNAFU.

Ford should be ashamed of this roll out.

Period.

I tried the 17 digit VIN on that link that I got from my fleet guy, same results. : (
I emailed him with the link...see if he can provide better. He DID get the VIN on 9/8 (van ordered 7/29) with a delivery date of mid October. Reg wb, mid roof, lots of options. The assembly line is gonna hate that one.

Can you go to your Dealer/sales guy and go thru with him on HIS computer?
We have stuff @ work that you can only access with a log in and company computer, If he is giving you the info, tel him you want/like to SEE?

Take him out for lunch or a liquid lunch after

I trust him.....especially since the other guy here with a tall on order has the exact same build week, so I doubt he's faking anything.
He knows that I've been keeping up with Transit info and that I know more than him, we've got a decent relationship going......I think.
I was a stranger to that dealership, but as you can imagine Van Man, from the first second I set foot in there (literally) the whole place remembered me and they all know I'm the Transit guy as well.

Yes, the build dates are the same. The site doesn't work for me either, I am guessing it doesn't actually enter the data population for that site until it starts on the production line.
