Greetings. I came across a van conversion manual or guidebook of sorts that appears helpful for anyone doing their own conversion, or even just researching what should be done by a professional up fitter. It's for Sprinters, but a lot applies also to Transits.

The Sprinter RV Conversion Sourcebook
http://www.sprinter-rv.com/sprinter-rv-conversion-sourcebook/
$37 as an ebook (PDF) download
Has sections on interior design, typical conversion process, insulation and soundproofing, plumbing, batteries, solar, internet, stoves, heaters, refrigerators, ventilation lighting and windows, cabinets, off road mods, etc.

In case this is of interest.

Cheers,
Bill

A biased one person's opinion on a conversion is available here:

Site is being added to as work progresses. This is a second conversion so some of the lessons learned from doing the first one are applied to the second.

Another free option here.

Nice web site with lots of information. Hate to know how many hours were involved developing it. One comment: Ca. coast Hwy is # 1 not # 101 if I recognize the photo as between Carmel and SLO. Travel that road regularly.
