Hi everyone, great discussion here!

Has anyone tried to integrate CCTV cameras into the transit van in a way to stealth and also can be used in automation with home assistant?

I’ve been looking to use side and back up cameras but I’m having problem to find DVR decoder that can do this. Any ideas?

thanks.
Good evening!

I was able to find a solution for CCTV camera system that is stealth and I can integrate with home automation

My solution is:

Cameras:

1. Backup Camera HD Waterproof Night Vision Metal Rear View Reverse Cam for Car Truck Pickup RV Van SUV DoHonest P31 https://a.co/d/2UVuTdJ with these adapters BNC to RCA Adapter (6 Pack) BNC Male to RCA Female Connector Coaxial Coax RG6 Adapter Kit Coupler for CCTV-6/10/20 Pack+4 Types for Selection https://a.co/d/bo1BXQI
Very cheap. Paid $10 with the discount

2. DVR/NVR

ANNKE 5MP Lite H.265+ Security DVR Recorder with AI Human/Vehicle Detection, 8CH Hybrid 5-in-1 CCTV DVR for Surveillance Camera, Supports 8CH Analog and 2CH IP Cameras, Remote Access (No Hard Drive) https://a.co/d/6SEeUJP
Not expensive = $69 without hdd that I’ll install later

The cameras are connected to this NVR which is connected to my router and it provides a RTSP video stream that can be used in various applications

3. Software Scrypted that I have running on an old laptop that runs Proxmoxx where I have other applications my MQTT, NodeRed and Homebridge

With Scrypted I can add the camera to Apple HomeKit security camera with unlimited recordings and live streaming because I have also a T-Mobile 5g and the Apple HomePod mini as a hub.

I’m not using Home Assistant but it can done because the NVR provides the RTSP video stream.

I just tested the system and is working and next days the is to install the camera around the van.

After that I’ll post pictures here.

Thanks for the support.
