I'm at 26000 mi, I have a 2015 transit 250 with 3.7
3 times now, while rolling thru a stop sign or light at about 10 mph when I get back on the gas it feels like the trans is slipping for a second or two and then it violently bangs into first. And it's loud. Dealer predictably says it's perfectly normal for an electronic trans to do that. I don't buy it, just trying to see if this is happening with anybody else.
Power steering pump also growls at start up and continues to growl until rpms drop down. Naturally, they told me this was normal also. Anybody else have this going on? Thanks

Just a thought, go to dealer test drive a transit that they have on lot and compare. Then go back and talk to service manager and see if he still gives you the run around. Above all make sure that they document your visit and complaint. Good Luck.

Yup. Call Ford customer service. The dealership will perk right up when they know you don't even bother arguing and go right their superiors. Did it with GM and got good results.

I believe there was a similar issue with this transmission in the F-150. I thought I had seen a TSB about this on an F-150 forum.

I have this same issue. Happened maybe 10x in 50k miles. (I have the eb engine, 3.73 rear end). However, no way I could ever get it reproduce while in the dealer. Happens at idle, when you start to lightly accelerate...say in a parking lot. Tran pauses for a sec...then slams into first with a jolt.

I brought my 2011 F-150 in to be checked for the TSB I had read about. At very low speeds, especially when rolling thru an intersection and turning, the transmission seemed to slip then engage with a bang. The dealership greased the splines on the driveshaft and the problem went away but was returning again as the mileage increased.

This issue was happening with ford's 6 speed tranny in the sport tracs too. There was some programming update that would possibly fix the issue. I read sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Ford is aware of the issue but not actively addressing it...
Lots of info on the ford f150 forum...
