I've been using this for the red light night vision. It's a cheap, bright white flashlight and the handle lights up as a red lantern for low level red area lighting. Blinking function for roadside emergencies which I needed once.

Nice! Four functions in one.

The bicycle tail lights bug me because they cycle through multiple flashing modes to turn off.

The pen lights are great. Magnets stick anywhere in the van. Pocket clip for your shirt for the late night trip to the campground potty. Hands free. ;)

yes!! me too! That flashlight I linked to has like 5 total different modes. I just realized that you can cycle through all of them but if you use one mode for more than 10 seconds or so, the next push of the button turns it off. No matter where you are in the cycle.

Hands free is good. The flashlight has a metal loop on the end so you can hang it on a hook in the van but otherwise doesn't work as well as your penlights for that.

Regularly free with other purchase. Have 3 of them in the van. One in front beverage holder and two hanging from rear door jam. The hook in back fits in a punched slot in the rear door jam and the magnet on the back holds it in place.
Those work really nicely, especially after you replace the chinesium batteries with real ones. I have at least 5 of them scattered around.

We went big and bought like 12 of those. Then eventually replaced with a similar light, but from Amazon (the HF lights will eventually stop working).

We put them in the spot on the rear door, and basically hang or hook them wherever we have a place to do so. AND we have our 6 wired interior lights and LED christmas lights. Its weird, because we really don't use our lights that much, even....

Most conversions have excessive numbers of lights and many do not put the light switches where a person would be standing when they want the light turned on. Also found no need to have multiple lights on at the same time.

One advantage to doing a second conversion was reducing the number of lights and revising where the switches were located.
