Trying to figure out what I need for an 8 foot utility/cargo trailer

I am looking to get an enclosed 8 foot trailer w/ 15" wheels to replace my 6 foot motorcycle trailer with pizza cutter wheels (which I used as a utility trailer w/ my old Tacoma, which I no longer have).

I see a lot of discussion about towing big trailers (with brake systems etc) and it seems it's pretty complicated if you didn't get the towing option from the factory.

But this isn't that. I'm looking at probably 1500lbs total. I installed a $40 trailer wiring kit from Amazon on my Tacoma but it made the electronics funny (like pressing the brake pedal made the dome light come on), something I don't want to repeat on a $45,000 van.

The Curt class 4 hitch looks good, but I'm not sure what to do about the electrical bits. Suggestions?

If you just wire it to the existing brake and turn lights it'll be fine. If you need a e-brakes controller get a nice name brand and follow the instructions. It's not difficult to do. This isn't rocket science.

Brake wire, hot, turn, run, stop, ground. Done.

Ok, thanks. I see that Amazon has a kit for $50. There's one I saw linked in another thread for $167 that works with trailer brakes, but the 8 foot Wells Cargo don't have brakes.
