I "jumped over the fence" to see (hear) what the sprinter-source people have to say about the Transit.
They are not happy and putting the blame on one of our very helpful members.
I got thru about 5 pages of 11 and had to "come up for air"
Talk about MB going to "cut and run" from the US market if the Transit takes over in sales.
I am going back to finish the thread "after dark" "cover me"

Our helpful member has been and still is one of the most respected members over there. Nobody EVER dissed him EVER until he started hinting at switching teams. Remember, one of the blamers has blinders on in his avatar!
Meanwhile I thought this thread was going to be about advise needed for home brewing.....
Then again he IS using a beer keg in his Sprinter conversion....

No specific attack Dave, I was assuming it was just the general stuff when some of the guys were getting on your case for promoting the virtues of the Transit over Sprinter. Everything I saw was lighthearted and in good taste and was nothing new.
I'm thinking that Van Man was just being a bit overprotective of one of our most insightful contributors and didn't like seeing anyone over there disagreeing with you.

Thanks.

Some people at the Sprinter site are brainwashed and very into their Sprinters. They seem to forget it is just a vehicle that has advantages and disadvantages when compared to another vehicle. Whatever, if the Transit drives well then I will put the Sprinter behind me and proceed with something better for my use.

The surly old one has mounted up and drove into the nearest campground... He's gettin a posse rounded up and as soon as everyone can get their awnings stowed, their grey water hoses disconnected, all their codes cleared and the transmissions warmed up enough to move... They will be commin after you!

The one advantage is the excellent free coffee and pastries in an upscale service waiting room where you get to sit with the affluent folks. They do glance at you in your jeans and sweatshirt but I can handle that.

And that is how I ment it to be received. I did not know that there was this type of stuff there?
I have stated more than once "I am not the expert here, and use everyones help"
I will say (1) I am glade I did not buy one (2) I am not the best dressed person here
Others know what is going on better than I do, so please correct me if needed

Keep in mind the huge advantage the Sprinter has is the fuel mileage, I have over 500,000 miles on my 04 and I still get over 23 MPG. I am definitely Interested in the Transit, but if I am gonna lose over 7 MPG, I will get the 2015 4 cylinder Sprinter. I put over 60,000 miles a year, and yes I have done the math

Are you considering the transit diesel or not?

I don't understand how there would be that much difference if fuel mpg between the sprinter diesel and the transit diesel? They both are close to the same size, shape, weight. What makes the sprinter more fuel efficient? I just drove back home, about 900 miles in a head wind with a full car (2009 vw tdi) and averaged 44 mpg.
