In case anybody is interested- my t250 3.7 has had trasmission issues since I got it, specifically a slipping or hesitation when getting back on the gas from a rolling stop. Then I bangs into first gear with great violence and noise. As I reported, multiple ford dealers called this normal, saying that 'they all do it' and there's no remedy. Then at 35000 miles my tourque converter started shuddering at highway speeds. Ford told the dealer to put a valve body in it, which of course was on back order. A new trans was available for ford refused to put one in, even with multiple trans complaints on this van. The service manager admitted to me he wasn't even sure the valve body would solve the issue. So they made me wait 2 weeks for a valve body and of course it didn't fix it. A few more days wait for a tourque converter, Ford still wouldn't spring for the trans. Bottom line, 3 weeks in the shop and $4500 of lost revenue later I get it back. Seems to shift ok but now my front end is clunking when I go around turns. Dealer says they probably did something wrong when putting it together, needs it back in the shop now. This is great stuff

Actually This van hasn't hit the north dakota lemon law parameters yet, so that's a dead end at this point.
I am a bit surprised that nobody on this forum seems to be very worked up by the crap attitude of both Ford motor and the dealers I've had the displeasure of butting heads with. Its really unacceptable to drop 35 grand on a vehicle and get this kind of crap treatment.

I suspect nobody gets worked up because it's expected. Dealers are almost universally inept and uncaring. Did you talk to a Ford rep directly or rely on the dealer to relay information? If your factory warranty is in effect you can usually still purchase an extended warranty.

Not only did I talk to the ford rep, I verbally stomped all over him. Got him to make a pmt for me, but 500 bucks hardly offsets 4500 of missed revenue. I might have to spring for the warrantee only because I have less and less confidence in this van, it's a shame cause I really like the dang thing. I wouldn't be heartbroken if I could lemon law it at this point though.

i saved money for a new vette convertible. not only would the dealer not let me drive one, but also would not unlock for me to sit in--on 3 occasions. so i took my $70k and paid cash for a miata and then ordered the Transit. thankfully chevy does not make a Transit :)
