Does anyone know why I would be getting a “transmission not in park” error message on my dash? All I did was install a brand new battery. Thanks!

I don't know why but I would try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 an hour or so and hook it back up.

I get that message whenever the drivers door is not shut correctly. Presumably, it does it with the other doors too. I would start by making sure all the doors are closed tightly, and then check the door switches and connections.

And yes, it would make a whole lot more sense if it said that a door was open instead of transmission not in park.
