Hi Chris. Welcome!

Do you have allocations for 2022 vans - if so can I ask how many? I know a lot of dealers say they can order, are able to put in an order, but they never get the allocation from Ford.

Ford is allowing us to place retail orders. These orders go into the system and receive a priority code. This code represents a build week in the future. As the week gets closer, Ford assigns a build date and so on. Allocations was how Ford used to allow dealers to place stock and retail orders. So technically, every dealer has the same chance of getting an order picked up. Things are really strange as we haven’t even been given the opportunity to place a Transit order since 11/2020….until now. The days of picking a van out of stock are gone. It seems as if Ford is preloading their order banks for the future and everything we’ve seen tells us that ordering is the new way of getting what you want. So to answer your question, allocations aren’t a “thing” anymore.
Hi Chris, Nice to see another dealership or two on the forum. I think folks here would love to have a few dealers sharing info on the forum, but please don't try blowing smoke. CA is smokey enough with all the fires. I have issue with your two statements outlined above in red. And the green statement says no one should consider ordering from SM Ford because of that fact.

Please run over to the "Dealers, Purchases and Orders" forum section and do some reading. Search [email protected] or CrewVanManInfo for some real time info about allocations. Not being snarky, but I still think allocations are a 'thing'. Read the various stories of folks who ordered HR AWD units from dealerships pitching the thing you just wrote above there. A few got lucky and found dealerships that were able to get one, many did not. I think we hear mostly from those that did not, its the nature of forums and 'reviews'.....BUT when you order something you want to get it. Buyers must be super smart about this purchase due to demand. this forum is where we come to learn and make our own decisions.

How many HR AWD Transit units did Santa Margarita Ford take delivery on for 2020? Provide some VINs please. The answer should be a simple number, not an explanation.

Demand is super high for the HR AWD Transit, you're smart to get on the forum to pitch your product, just be more honest/cautious/realistic/transparent. Thanks, and welcome, really.

I've been wondering if/when Ford might change their system, seeing that they have made it known they want to go to a more build to order model. I could see them do something more like they have with their new models, that is more first come first served for orders, where they time stamp reservations for these models and then generally build based on that order, assuming parts/features are available on those builds (or at least that's they way they are making it sound like it works, I don't really know for sure...). I could see them keeping the allocation system in place for stock orders, to incentivize higher volume dealers. Unfortunately, there is no one good source for information, as Ford is terrible about consistent information getting to their dealer network, with even the "reliable" source here not always being so.

Chris,

I see that you have heavily edited your original Posts, so I will do the same to mine.
But in the future as Ranger Robin says, please don't blow smoke at us.

I wish you well and hopefully you will be able to help those in the SO Cal area find their new Transits without the hassels that have been foisted on buyers by some dealers.

Please contact me directly to discuss.
I can appreciate your wanting to take this off line. But if your not even willing to disclose you delivered “more than 50” or some number of high roof 2021 AWD Transits I’m going to have to go to the blowing smoke camp.

Sadly as I’m in OC and need a reliable dealer.

Since you're local, please stop by to discuss in person and I can show you our dealership and discuss Transits!
Thanks

It seems you took a shot, and whiffed. No one wants to hear stop in and see me, or contact me directly. If you're on here to win customers, then it's all cards on the table.

You guys are vicious!

You treated him like hamburger thrown into an alligator pond.

Not even pink water left.

I'd like to give the guy credit for making an intro pitch here. But, not answering the question about allocations, and reverting to Salesman 101 tactics is a big red flag.

My guess is that his boss would not allow him to divulge allocation number. He could go back and say, "Look, this is how we play ball." Or, maybe he was fishing to fill a single allocation, and the entire exercise was pointless.

As I think was alluded to above, he could study Crewvanman's postings on this forum, for a graduate course on becoming a trusted Transit dealership.

That wasn't my intent. Chris is welcome in my book but needs to share information that is honest and helpful. Maybe he knows Transits and features but until he shares allocation numbers, I wouldn't go there. Esp When Sheri at Tuttle Click down the road has a few great recommendations. I think Villa Ford in Orange has allocations, my parents live over there. In Jan & Feb this year I saw dozens (like 40-50) of MR and HR white vans, some HR AWD - in their side lot being upfitted, but I didn't talk with them, so not totally sure.
