here's the thing I have an '09 transit van.. I usually have to drive through a rough terrain.. I haven't had much problems with the van.. but lately I just can't get into the rear. It does not unlock.. Should I call a locksmith?

Where are you located? Transits didnt make it to the U.S. until 2015, unless you imported one.
U.S. models don't have a keyed entry in the back, they unlock by electronics at front or key fob. So don't think a locksmith will help. Might have to take it to your dealer.

Is your 2009 actually a Transit Connect? That was the year they first became available in the US. That's Gen1, right up to 2013, which I own. On this forum, I exchanged posts with another Gen1 owner several months back. He had problems with his door lock system. He determined that it was the door lock actuators -- small electric motors, all alike for all doors on the van. They were inexpensive, and he did the replacement work himself.

If you do have a TC, then do a search of this forum, and see if the info is helpful.
