Just picked up my 2020 Transit Crew and have the rear A/C unit in the back. Wondering if anyone has wired the rear A/C to run off a house battery so it can be used while parked? I'm a newbie and have been doing a deep dive in wiring. I have a single battery but looking to get and additional battery / isolator / possibly inverter rather than Goal Zero as alternate power source. I'd like to take advantage of the rear A/C since we're in a hot / humid area. Any previous experience / advice is appreciated!

The refrigeration (cooling) work of the factory A/C is done by an engine driven compressor so what you are envisioning is not practical. A few folks have accomplished battery driven air conditioning but the costs are north of $10K and increase from there as run time and cooling power increase.

Well BOO. I was hoping having the unit in the back left corner meant it was self sufficient and just utilizing the electric vs engine. Thanks for the heads up and I took a look at your IG and your build is gorgeous. I'll have to learn how to murder out my caps like yours! Thanks again!
