That's what I went to do. I have a Samsung sound bar that only has HDMI input, no AUX stereo plug.. (dumb)

I want to transmit Bluetooth from my head unit and have it connect automatically to the sound bar. I've seen a few RCA to Bluetooth transmitters, but I don't know how is get the sound bar to connect to something like that without an interface of some sort.

The other option being to covert the RCA out to HDMI in for the sound bar. I'm curious if there is any way to get 4 channel audio that way though as I've got front and rear RCA outs.

Thoughts welcome. Thanks for your time!

@Tcaschy021 is on the right track. RCA to HDMI. Might even sound pretty good!

No option to "transmit BT" /from/ the head-unit. They tend to be receivers in the BT relationship.

I ended up going the sound-bar route for our rig mostly because of the stock head-unit turning off. No pretty / clean install yet, but it works great and the wireless rear speakers and sub make for a pretty decent setup with very little effort. Either use the phone or a tablet or whatever.

Critical note: while the soundbar may SEEM solid just pressed up into the top of the package tray... it hits one on the head with significant force while rattling down a dirt road. OUCH! Then I put it back without anything holding it there and it split my arm open on another fall. I am a REALLY slow learner. Now, it has something holding it in place.

Still looks this ugly. Just as a big BOLT holding it in place now as well. Have yet to re-route all the power cords and stuff.

I spent 9 months trying to work out an option to use the vehicles sound system when parked for music and for watching movies. I gave up mostly because there isn't a fix for the sound lag over BT when streaming the sound for a movie.

So now we use a 5 year old Jambox that lives above my head in the roof tray when not being used. Its secured by the netting we added to both sides of the tray.

It works really well and "movie night" outside, by the camp fire is something we now look forward to. We recharge the Jambox with a 5V USB when needed,

Where'd you end up installing the subwoofer of the soundbar.
