Anyone else have ticking on cold start up? Sounds like lifter tick. Just got my 1st oil change with a motorcraft filter and full syn oil but still have the tick. I'll be taking it to the dealer for this problem but wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem.

The motor is direct injected you are hearing the injector noise and most likely nothing more.

Your dealer would be able to sort that out for you. Using a stock filter is a good investment so I am thinking you are fine.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with the ticking noise you hear but Ford recommends 5W 30 synthetic blend and not full synthetic for the EcoBoost. Motorcraft oil of course!

Ford doesn't say not to use full synthetic. They just say you shouldn't increase the miles between changes if you do.

I'm running full synthetic in mine.
