Why would the battery location affect installing swivel seats? I installed one on the Sprinter. It bolted on top of the pedestal using the seat bolt holes. Then the seat bolts to the swivel. The swivel does raise the seat height about 1 1/2".Ditto! I was dismayed to hear the batteries are located under the driver's seat as that can greatly complicate the switch to a swivel seat.
I just received a set of swivels from vantracks.co.uk. I'll let you know in a couple weeks whether they fit or not!Anyone have more luck sourcing a swivel seat kit for the Transit? There are plenty of sprinter swivel kits...will one of these work? or maybe just a generic swivel base?
Thanks for the clarification! If anyone can post a link to the swivel assembly, I would very much appreciate it. Curious to know whether you can make these UK swivels work on the new US Transit here. Perhaps new bolt holes will be needed? Thanks.I just received a set of swivels from vantracks.co.uk. I'll let you know in a couple weeks whether they fit or not!

Would love to provide an update but Ford keeps delaying delivery of my van. It's been built for 6 weeks and still hasn't left Detroit.Lookin' for an update on how those swivels are working and how u ordered, how long did it take to receive them and how much were they. I would like to at least use them on the passenger side.
Sorry rondo, I feel your pain, mine was built Aug. 15, finally delivered Nov. 6.Would love to provide an update but Ford keeps delaying delivery of my van. It's been built for 6 weeks and still hasn't left Detroit.
I WISH they were building them right here in Detroit, that way I'd be able to at least ogle mine with binoculars a few times a week from outside a rail yard fence. Or better yet maybe the couple of miles trip from plant to dealer would be accomplished by car hauler instead. For sure they would never consider just driving it the ten to fifteen minutes.Would love to provide an update but Ford keeps delaying delivery of my van. Wondering if you got your van and were able to use the swivel seats? There is another discussion about swivel seats which could use your input.Would love to provide an update but Ford keeps delaying delivery of my van. It's been built for 6 weeks and still hasn't left Detroit.
If swivel is mounted below seat rails, would it not get in way of removing batteries? Don't know. The few swivel seats I recall seem to have had the rails above the swivel. In the case of the Transit, it seems driver seat has to be moved forward all the way to pull/service batteries. If swivel is above rails then it would move forward out of way with seat.
