I emailed SportsMobile about swivel bases last night. They said they have been working on the design for the last few weeks and will have a production passenger seat swivel done on 2-3 months. No plans for driver side because of the parking brake.

TESSMAN:...the swivel is of very good quality....
I took a chance and orderd my seats first that I will be replacing....the rail width is different (14" vs. 17") so I will have to modify the swivel to bridge the gap..... and so it goes....

The torx bolts holding down the seats are off the charts tight.....I can't even get them off...will need to have the shop loosen them for me when I switch out the seats....

Which seats did you order? Pictures? I was thinking of the possibility of installing an electric brake (to remove the parking brake [there are special needs retrofit kits out there]). Moving the batteries and electronic unit out from under the drivers seat, basically gutting all the seat components down to the floor and then installing some nice reclining captains chairs with new bases. But I would like to avoid all that mess if possible. It looks like the Euro Murvi conversion solved swiveling both seats somehow. It might be a good idea to talk to them at some point and see if they will part with how they did it.

dtessman,

What you're thinking can be done, but will need to be done by someone qualified with major experience in modifying vehicles. I'm having a push button electronic parking brake installed, but under the existing parking brake (for protection) are the vehicle air bag control modules. Batteries are being relocated to the rear of the vehicle, which means all the electronics etc have to be run there also.

Building on the existing seat platform or a after market swivel, will be the easiest and cheapest way to go.

I contacted Discount Van and Truck. These fixed and swivel bases are for the full size Transit not the Connect. The representative stated that they make the adapters and are selling them as fast as they can make them.
By chance do you know if the swivel bracket works with the 10-way powered leather seats?

I did not. I purchased aftermarket seats for more comfort. They have a swivel for aftermarket and Factory.

I was hoping to be able to purchase a swivel adaptor from reisemobilsitz24.de
while in germany the last 3 weeks but they did not had them in stock at that time. I received the below mail today , here the translation :
Hello,
the passenger side seat adaptor is now available and has a lead time of 14 days.
For the Driver Side there is now also a solution available but so far only in combination with a sportscraft seat. The Swivel Set for the driver side includes the swivel adapter with fittings for a Sportscraft Seat. The Seat will then swivel above the hand break.

In a previous mail to me they stated that the crash certificate for the passenger swivel will be available mid year from Sportscraft. So they are using Sportscraft Adapters which should be available here in the US as well.

here the link to their site:

Hallo ,

I've heard rumor that Sportsmobile has designed and prototyped a replacement base for the passenger seat that swivels, currently being tested, with production starting in about 3 months. But I don't know if they will sell the part, or just that it is available as part of their upfit.

It is true and they are going to be selling it. I have exchanged email with them on this. I am waiting for their base. They said it would be on their online store.
