another curiosity, in europe, the last generation transit, there was a factory transit sport van with performance wheels and tires and a sport tuned suspension, racing stripes as well. will something like this happen with the new generation, even come to the states? on a similar note would anyone modify their transits suspension, performance or softer ride? will the suspensions on the transits be different between the cargo van and the wagon versions?

This is the most wonderful thing about the USA getting the same Transit as The UK. We can get all those tuning parts for our Transits. Evan if Ford doesn't sell them here you will be able to import from Europe. Todd

I am curious why anyone wants to change the suspension. I have been impressed with the way my 2500 handles. I am not against making changes and did add a larger rear sway and tires to my sold Sprinter which definitely improved the handling. The Transit stock corners very well. Did get a quote from Ford for all the parts to add the passenger van rear sway bar. Do not think I will do it because it handles fine now. Maybe will after I add the 2000 lbs or so of conversion weight if I notice a major difference.

Walls are 8mm. A 7/16-20NF bolt works in the D-Ring tapped holes. They are probably also metric. Many of the untapped wall holes are exactly the right size for a 1/4-20NC prebulbed inserts. McMaster-Carr has a simple $30.00 tool to install the inserts.

I don't share in your enthusiasm. Yes,...the accessories for the Europe Transit are great to look at on-line,...everything from stainless floor vents to very nice looking Front A Bars for 279 British Pounds, but the shipping is 120% of the cost.

I'd love to order a European Transit factory bumper with fog lights,...but the cost with shipping would likely be astronomical.

Interesting thing is,...the US has already built over 130,000 Transits,...far more than available in Europe.

Please,...anyone hearing of Transit accessories available in North America,...post about it in the Accessories Folder.
