I have a 2015 Ford Transit 150 used for business purposes. The steering pump has failed and needs replacement under warranty. The part is NOT AVAILABLE !! Ford does not have the part to replace a brand new vehicle under warranty !! UNBELIEVABLE !! The van has been parked at the dealership for almost a month and no dealer can find the part and the ETA on the part being available is "UNKNOWN".

HOW CAN THAT BE ?? I bought a $34k new commercial van from Ford and it's worthless and parked at the dealership. NO one at the dealership can do anything. I am completely and totally screwed by Ford !!!!

I have bought about 20 Ford vehicles in the past year for our fleet and the Ford Transit was a new model for us and we had bought 3 so far. We will no longer be buying Ford vehicles of any model type. Unbelievable !!

Parts for these things must be piling up at salvage yards by now, unless they're so valuable they're being stripped and shipped. Maybe check into that. Otherwise, I'd insist on a rental replacement in the meantime.

If I was you I would call customer service at Corporate and tell them that you either need your van fixed or replaced immediately and if the person who you talk to can't resolve your problem ask to speak to their supervisor and continue up the chain till you get someone who can rectify your problem immediately. Oh yeah do not take no for an answer. your dealer don't care if your van sets there for a year cause they have your money already. This will work if you don't take no for an answer.

I agree, with purchasing 20 vehicles from Ford recently I'd call corporate and lay it on the line. You are a good customer and should be treated as such. Quite often the local dealer isn't the best solution........

I might also do a little searching on my own just to see what can be turned up.

BTW, what was the symptoms of the pump failure?

Well, there's actually very little to tell. It was leaking, so they replaced the whole pump. It never actually failed on me. For once, a problem was pro actively solved by the dealer. Just got lucky.

I had that happen once on a F150 Lightning. They swapped out the intermittent wiper switch proactively as they were known to fail. The problem I brought it in for... not so much. Had to look up the TSB myself and repair it myself. Assclowns. Nice, but assclowns.
