Does anyone know an "insider" at the Transit Van Kansas City Assembly Plant that can help us with accurate info on Build and Shipping and Arrival at the Dealer?

My Order was placed 12/26/14 with a Michigan Dealer for a Custom Build. Extended Length/Highest Roof/3.5 L EB V6/etc.

When will I have it in my driveway? Needed to replace Business E350!

Knowing someone at the Kansas City plant will not help in getting your Transit any faster. It is based on the inventory at the dealer level as well as the availability of the options ordered for the Transit. The transportation is mostly controlled by the railroad companies and the local distribution center and their transporters.

Another part that comes into play is the allocation your specific dealer has to order vehicles. Most of the Transit order quantities are based on the past history of that dealers Econoline van sales and inventory. Ford was trying to build up Transit inventory for the dealers so the special orders were placed based on the dealer allocation and the needed inventory that dealer was set to have on their lot. As we have seen from the past history, the dealer has received more 'in stock' orders than 'special orders'.

This should change starting in 2015 when the dealers have ample selling inventory and more production happening at the Kansas City plant.
