So the Version 1.0 with 64" rails didn't work out when spacing the panels apart by 7". Front mounted Maxxfan was closing on the edge of front panel. 78" works way better and with panels set at far rear the cable gland is covered as well.

That Solaria panel gets great reviews. Several of the solar companies I talked to spoke highly of it.

I ended up deciding on 2 - 200w panels because I want to be able to transport surfboards on one side and block one of the panels without affecting the other. I found a renogy panel that is longer but more narrow that would allow two to be side by side within the 57" span of Heins towers and still have a 1.5" between them to have a crossbar for the boards. I couldn't get a clear answer if I would lose more than 50% with the Solaria panel.

If you’re planning to set up your solar projects on a curved area, don’t settle for those rigid, traditional panels. Go instead for those in this flexible solar panels review that will have a snug placement, so they won’t come loose easily. A 100 watt flexible solar panel might be suitable for quick camping trips with one or two people. However, for a family living at home, a collection of 200W or 300W flexible solar panels might be more apt. If you want something more intense, go for 400W flexible solar panels.

... unless you've actually used those flexible panels for more than a year or two and realize that you'll be replacing them regularly to keep good output. 😏

Solar panel ratings commonly differ, depending on the manufacturer or model of the unit. Nevertheless, most of them range from 250W to 330W. If the solar panels’ wattage is higher, you’ll merely require fewer of them. If you have a limited roof space, solar panels designed with higher efficiency ratings can help make your solar system more compact.

Autonomous power supply systems for suburban properties allow them to live in comfort even far from centralized communications. Often, along with traditional schemes, alternative schemes based on solar energy are used. The battery (panels) design is designed to allow the equipment to function in various weather conditions, at temperatures ranging from -35 ° C to +80 ° C. It turns out that properly installed solar panels will work with the same performance in winter and summer, but on one condition - in clear weather when the sun gives off the maximum amount of heat. In cloudy weather, the efficiency decreases dramatically. And as a system, we use DIY Off Grid kits, which we purchased with the help of Off Grid Solar Power System Kits and Packages | Full DIY Technical Support Provided.

solar panels now are basically the same -
higher watt is Mostly because panel size is Bigger -
1 or 2% higher panel efficiency will be hard to see in output -

build quality can be slightly better - maybe better trace connections -
some panels have better (bigger/thicker ) framing -

from what I have seen - what breaks most often on panels is the Back Flow Diode -
these are easy and cheap to replace if needed -

Cheap solar Charge controllers is what seem to break most often
in systems

buying Good solar charge controller is good investment -
ease of use - easy read - easy adjustment - Safety - this is important -

Ive been using Victron solar charger every day for 7 years -
has worked Flawless -
reacts to clouds instantly -
having solar charger react to clouds Fast is where efficiency gains
can be made -
One pretty expensive brand I have seen takes several minutes after
cloud cover to readjust - this can cause Big losses in output # -

Victron phone app is real Good
Easy to use and adjust - works every time -

Once setup really no need to mess with settings again -
