Sliding Door woes, part 2

Well the van is back at the dealer to get the slider fixed. the part showed up last week. It was at the mobility upfitter getting the wheelchair lift installed, but they had a parts delay related to the tie-down mechanisms so I picked it up and took it back to the Ford dealer. The lift sort of works - needs some tweaking, but I've had the chair in and out of the van a few times

In order to install the rear door openers, the rear door latches had to be removed. The service guys are trying to calibrate the slider and they say they're getting errors about the rear doors being open. Well, not too surprising because In order to install the rear door openers, the rear door latches had to be removed. It sound like nobody actually looked at the rear doors - the hardware is obviously missing at top and bottom.

Does anybody here know if the rear doors have to be closed to calibrate the slider? And what does the "calibration" actually do? Also - is there a way to get the computer not to post errors about the rear doors being "open"?

Just wanted to report that the sliding door now works properly. They replaced a few parts, including the motor and IIRC the door controller.
