There are two versions apparently of this large expensive scuff plate, CK4Z6113228AG for the Van, and CK4Z6113228AE for the Wagon. I am guessing vinyl floor vs carpet floor but what would be the difference and would the carpet model suffice on the cargo van?

I watched a couple of youtube videos and it appears the scuff plate version for the wagon is a lot taller to accommodate the built up floor height, etc, which may be of some interest to those of you building up your floors. Can anyone confirm this?

What keeweenawbee said.
I have also poured through threads on DIY builds and modifications. The wagon floor is something like 2" off the metal floor, the cargo is bare or 1/4-3/8" above the top of the ribs with the mat. The wagon floor encloses some ducting as well as providing height for the seat brackets to be more or less flush with seats removed.

Actually the wagon floor is approx 1.5 inch's with the convoluted floor leveled. To get back to threshold level after removal of heating duct and seat rails, I reused the standard 1/2'' thick standard flooring (with all heating duct and fillers removed) added 1/2'' Dow insulation, finished of with 1/2'' engineered hardwood flooring.

I will try to post pics shortly

I still have the dash heating for use whilst driving. I was thinking of removing the blower motor/heater core from under the passenger seat for the additional storage, but that became a non issue after fitting a swivel base to the passenger seat. The heat can still be utilized from the open vent at the rear of the passenger seat, not vert efficient but still there.
I have at present a simple camping set up and will use my propane heater while camping.

It looks like our local ford dealer here in the metro already folded up their internet excursion mnfordparts.com so I finally acquiesced and ordered the side entry scuff plate, finding a $4 shipping quote down at fordgenuineautoparts.com in Nevada for a total shipped price of $211.85 I ordered all the fasteners on the parts blow ups and then it occurred to me that I already have a partial sill plate there that covers most of the bottom stepping surface. Do I reuse those fasteners that I already have or does this larger scuff plate cover it or integrate with it in some way?

I have the rear floor heater and replacing the flooring. It does sit higher and I am rerouting the heat vent tubes by cutting channel into the second layer of subfloor. I needed to do this to accommodate second row captain chain mounts.
First Layer 15/32": Provides something to fasten subfloor.
Second Layer23/32" will provide strength and channels for seat wiring and heat vents
Third Layer 15/32": Will cap everything off.
Total height of subfloor will still be under the rear and side scuff-plates.
Still under construction.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the great info! I am looking to order the side scuff plate and rear sill plate, but I'm a little confused in terms of all the fasteners required. On the bear lake parts page, is it only a quantity of one for each of the individual fasteners shown on the blow up image?

In addition, where do I find the order page for each of the fasteners? They are shown as 1, 2, 3, etc.. on the blow up image and I would think I needed an actual part number for each of these?

Thank you!

I have all my parts now. I will take a look at the amount of holes in the plates and compare to whats there (I have a basic side bottom plate that is already attached and needs to be removed). They are in storage (I need to go there anyway) so I will do it some time today. The following is what I "guess ordered" and have received. (in order to install my Bedrug Vantred) Whatever you do don't pay an exorbitant amount for the "door trim panel nuts" they are about the size of the tip of your little finger and I have seen prices as high as $21 each for them.

CK4Z4273DC 2 $ 5.37 Rear sill plate cap. CARGO VAN DEPTH Scuff plate cap.
BK2Z1K359AA 1 $ 4.02 Lock cover
W702403S450B 2 $ 2.76 Rear sill plate screw. Scuff plate screw.
BK3Z-16A550-GB 2 $79.98 Wheelhouse Cover
W705365S300 2 $ 5.95 Door trim panel nut.
CK4Z-6113228-AG $207.76 Side door Scuff Plate CARGO VAN DEPTH
CK4Z6140374AA $90.19 Rear sill plate

The side scuff plate has six mounting holes the rear has five plus the cap that covers what I believe is the spare release mechanism. I will probably make out ok with what I ordered and what I have with the original side basic bottom sill plate for the side entry.

As far as order pages I would put the part numbers in google search, amazon & eBay and put your order together from who ever has best parts + shipping prices that's what I did.
