I like the cutout base on the AD DESIGN FOR ADRIAN STEEL(see link below) ,for sheet goods .I cant get to shelves cause 5 sheets of plywood are standing up in center of van !
Thought I found an answer with this new shelving....BUT they don't have them for the ford transit med roof 50" or 60" just for the low roof! WHY?
I did find that they make them for the nissan nv only ,in a tall package but no contour
Anyone put these in there transit yet? let us know if they fit or not!?
Or any info on cabinets with this cutout ? Found them on Weatherguards site ,but picture of them street side was backwards ,meaning the cutout was facing the street.....as seen on weatherguards website in picture of Ford transit med roof 130" wheelbase....called the 2 phone numberson weatherGuards web site ,got some condor climbing equipment company?sigh......
BEEN SHOPPING for cabinets for weeks..

I spent about $10k on upfit and used a combination of manufacturers:

Partition: Knapheide
Shelves: Ranger
Ladder Rack: Prime Design Ergorack
Rear Window Screens & Cab file box: Adrian

The Ranger shelves I installed don't have the cutout base, but I really like them. They're a lot nicer than the steel shelving I've had in previous vans from Adrian Steel.

Here's some photos:

Ranger makes all aluminum shelving. Or try American Van. There stuff is nice also.

The future isn't what it use to be.
Was looking at Amercian van for awhile ,there cabinets for med roof are 16"D too big for my needs
I was also looking at Kargo master there 14"D ..really like the Adrian steel with the radius bottom ,they just don't make it in the 59" H for the med roof transit with the radius bottom ,it's there AD SERIES Cabinet .. I need to put plywood flat on floor with cabinets installed..can't get to to my tool boxex with plywood standing up in back ..looks like nice stuff though !

Looks nice, tks for the pics! How do you like the yellow handled pull out containers and the rack there?
How do you like like the thermoplastic Knapheide divider? Is that a pass thru door or not? How much do they run? Tks
The parts organizers have been very handy. The unit with 8 carry cases and two shelves above was $900 which seems like a lot, but it's been invaluable for organization. I replaced two of the full size cases at the top with four half-height cases for storing smaller parts.

The Knapheide partition was also around $900 but I like it much better than the perforated metal partitions I've used in the past from Adrian Steel. Biggest benefit is that they fit very tightly and seal the cab from noise and also make heating and cooling easier in the cab. The only downside if you have rear windows is that the plexiglass window picks up some reflection from the windshield, so sometimes when you look in the rear view window, you're seeing reflections of what's in front of you.

The partition doesn't have a door, so no way to pass through. I have a file box between the seats so didn't need a door. The partition install was straight-forward and probably the easiest part of the upfit.

I have 14" deep Ranger shelving on the drivers side and 17" deep Ranger shelving on the passenger side. This leaves about 36" between shelves.

Did you get the Ranger contoured back shelves ,or they the straight back ? How do they fit in back ? What size shelves ,did you get ?,one looks bigger than the other ..I am doing the install myself ,but had to measure for a good fit ,without the bulkhead installed first..

Yes, the shelves have the contoured back and fit close to the walls. I have the factory load protection panels on the walls and they snugged up nicely.

Drivers side is Ranger F70-X near the partition and F42-X near the rear. These are both 14" deep shelves that are 58" high. The F70-X is 70" long and the F42-X is 42" long. The Passenger side is one Ranger F56-T which is 17" deep, 58" high and 56" long. Ahead of the F56-T (near the side slider) is the Ranger 5086 parts keeper cabinet with carry cases.

These shelves use install kits (PN 6436 & 6437) which include rails for the floor and walls. I knew I didn't want the rails on the floor under the center of the shelves, but bought the kits anyway thinking I might use the rails on the wall. In the end, I didn't use these kits at all and they are still in the boxes. I ended up drilling the floor and walls and attaching directly with rivnuts.

Also do you have a thin metal shelf ,or a thick plywood type shelf ? Does ranger have thin or thick shelf as an option ?tks again
These shelves have extruded aluminium edges front and back and plywood shelve surface (maybe 1/2" thick?). I covered the shelves with a rubber mat to keep noise down and so things wouldn't slide around.

Here is a budget minded shelving set up. I have had this in my Sprinter for 11 years and would duplicate it in my Transit.

The big thing for me was I didn't want to loose my floor space it I wanted to haul something large in back. The shelves will fold down and lean against the wall. The frame is bulk tube steel and some 90 degrees made out flat steel. I have 4 large shelves which as you can see are fabricated out of plywood. Very inexpensive, and I am a painter so I have no need for the cubbies. You could dress these up to make them look nicer, but very functional.

Where did you order them from ?,how did you know what would fit and how it would fit ? I have distributors that can get me them ,they tell me give them part #....but no one to say , what wont or will work on cabinet layout!
I'm going to do the ranger cabinets too! I wanted some of the drawers, and maybey a small workbench ,made out of 1 of the cabinets ,like just remove a shelf ,do you think this would work ,since you have the cabinets installed...thanks again!

I ordered everything from Inlad.com and was pleased with the customer service. Try contacting Eric Edgecombe "eric(at)inlad.com".

Most of the manufacturers have packages put together for the different vans which is a good place to start understanding what will fit. I received some information from another business owner in my industry that had already outfitted 3 Transits and 1 Promaster and this was very helpful.

I originally wanted to use a local upfitter to purchase and install all the shelves, partition, rack, etc. but they refused to drill the floor or walls to mount the shelves and would only use the install kits which are the metal rails that run under the center of the shelves and between shelf and wall. The local upfitter also only worked with several manufacturers and couldn't sell me the combination of products I ended up using.

If you haven't already, go the the manufacturers websites (Ranger, Knapheide/Sortimo, American Van, Adrian Steel, etc.) and either download or request catalogs. Most have catalogs specific for the Transit van along with more generic options for accessories.

Not really sure about turning a shelf or cabinet into a workbench, but sounds like it could be easily done.

Thanks so much for the info , no dealers have any in stock ,to see quality..looks like most of the 42" cabinets they recommend have a lot of wasted space ,but this depends on the partion, and different cabinet depths and lengths .thanks for the pics of the rivit nut tool thing.
