Title says most of it. I am in a position where I need to sell my 2020 Medium Roof Transit after using it as a camper for the last year. I'm listing it for private sale but I am also wondering if anyone here has any knowledge on how dealerships would usually treat a converted van. Would they even consider buying it from me? Would they consider the conversion to be damage?

Thanks in advance.

If you modified any of the factory systems including safety features (airbags, seats, foam blobs etc) they probably are not allowed to sell it as is. The probably also applies if the conversion part wasn't done exactly to the the requirements in the Body Builder Guide. If you have documentation all requirements are met, including Center of Gravity calculations for RSC compliance, you might be ok. Or if everything is removable, you'd probably be ok too but they probably would not include any extra value for those items.

Thanks for the response. Everything is definitely removable. I still have the foam blobs and any other plastics that were taken off during the build.

Dealers usually treat it based on the actual value of the vehicle less any additions to it. The extra value is to the owner himself and the dealer would care less about it since they would have to sell it based on the regular vehicle value especially if they ran it through a auto auction. For the most value and return on your sale, best to try and sell it on your own.
