Good day. I'm delving into the quagmire of rims for a Transit 150 MR. I'm getting some winter tires as the roads in MT winters are nasty. I want to get a second set of steel rims so i can swap both sets out myself at the end of the seasons(i want to use my highway tires in the summer).

The dealership quoted me $1400 bucks for a set of steel rims w/o the pressure sensors!!! Unreal. No other tire specific company in town can find rims for the transit. Anyone have any luck finding aftermarket rims that don't require a second mortgage?

johnsonbrody,

Bringing your post over to "Parts Needed / Available" to help you possibly find someone who has changed out their rims.

Same issue here. We're getting the long and tall dually and the Ford quote Ford an extra set of "cheap" steel winter rims will pay for years of seasonal switch overs. Nobody that I've found makes a wheel of any sort for this Transit either. Our lug bolt pattern is different than yours and is also unique. I have found at least 2 different companies that make simulators though, stainless full wheel covers, specifically for the Transit dually, North American build. That way at least we can cover up the painted steel rims with something that looks nice.

have you fit these on your vehicle? tirerack does not list them as fitting so I was interested to see if they had the same center bore.

They do. Sorry for the delayed reply. I was away from the forum for a while. I'll snap a picture of the wheels when I leave work today. They look pretty good, honestly for being the only rims I could find.

I just picked up the Rial's from tire rack as well. Don't have them yet though. Pressure sensors were half the cost on tire rack. Dealer want's 85 bucks a corner for them.

Rial's for the summer, stock steelies for the winters.

Spudz, they look great on your van. Can't wait to get them on mine. It's 22 degrees C. in southern ontario, and i'm still running around on my wranglers.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but I didn't realize ordering OEM wheels one at a time was thing. I found the alloys that came with my T-150 on eBay. If I bought one of these so my spare matched the others and them I had this rotated in every time I rotated my tires how would that work with the TMPS?

Or just ignore the TPMS system. We drove vehicles for many years without TPMS and used a air pressure gauge to check tire pressure.

The spare wheel is black. I bought the wheel cover option because that gives you all 5 wheels black. Rotate all 5 tires every 7500 miles. TPMS works for the first 7500 miles and gives a warning message for the next 30,000 miles before it works again.

Buy a Tpms sensor for the spare and calibrate the system at rotation.
I was told by the local Ford dealer that the system would not work with 5 sending units. Has anyone added a sending unit in the spare and have the system function?
