I had mine off last week. Just press in clips holding it in place. Pry a bottom corner away a little bit and you can see in enough to identify where the clips are. You may need to use a prying tool near the clips to popo them out.

The passenger side rear door on my van also had a plastic dust shield that I had to remove to add sound deadening inside the door... the drivers side didn't have the dust shield.

I don't mean to hijack a conversation but it sounds like the question has been somewhat answered and my question is related. I'm trying to remove wall paneling right next to the rear door (driver's side) - maybe it's the same as the rear door panels - hidden clips - pry carefully - look in ? Has anyone been in there ?

desert, if you have the Cargo, with load area protection panels, it has visible fasteners, where you pull out the center post with a couple of small screwdrivers, to free them. If you have a Wagon, I'm not sure.

Since others will find or use this thread about getting rear door trim panels off, I am adding a link to the thread, Ideas for rear interior door handles, which happens to have the best info I've seen on the site, about getting door trim panels off. There are posts with photos and Ford diagrams.

M1: Rear door(s) use panel clips that need pried out. It "pops" off.

I used two existing holes to insert 1/4-20 rivnuts into to attach an angle bracket for a door shelf, through the black plastic trim panel!

Interesting. What are you holding, there? I guess the shelf sits perpendicular to the door, but, last pic's angle makes it look like it's sitting on the latch.

'Tis at a 90º to the door, JUST off the floor, and the panic exit devices weigh about 20lbs± each.

The reason that they're there is because I need them on the truck, but don't want 'um on the floor, and they're too long for my shelves, in their boxes.
(I got needfully creative.)

WOW...They're, There, Their : ))))

As an aside ("P.S."), I opened this yesterday at a Getgo and I'm still walking on air. (These type of jobs are my biggest "ego strokers.")

Opened as in lost key or combo? I've had a life-long hobby interest in locks. Learned to pick locks, and to feel out combinations on inexpensive devices. I was always jazzed to get a lock open.

Malfunctioning Kaba-Mas Cencon on the Hyosung ATM.
The fellows that service the ATM electronics are NOT Safe-Techs/Loxmyths, so they call upon me...WOOT! : )
