Was it over the air (wifi) software upgrade? Or did you have to take it to Ford?

 

Is this the Sync4 recall fix

 

I don't know if I had to but they did a usb update at the dealer when I went in for some other work. I didn't even know the software fix was ready.

Some time ago my radio reset itself to the station of it's choice. Now it remembers my last station choice and fires that one up during startup.

I'd be more happy if the audio system didn't default to AM RADIO if it cannot connect to the previous bluetooth phone. That's the dumbest software default.

 

I don't know if this is sync-version specific. It's officially called a camera recall but the dealer updated my sync3 too, apparently. I did several at home, over air updates over the past 4 years but only this usb dealer update helped my sync3 issues. The recall number is in the title. An internet search will give you the official description.

 

Before this update my sync3 would default to AM radio at each engine start and not retain my prior audio choice. Now it retains my prior audio choice on startup. Nice.

 

I got this update on my 2024 today. I didn't observe any change in behavior other than the backup camera maybe being clearer?

 

What part of the country are you in? I’ve been told it’s going to be rolled out regionally

 

I'm in central Virginia. I got the update over the cell modem when I stopped at a business for half an hour. Started the van afterward and had the 'you got the update' popup on the screen.

Mid Atlantic for me. This is a USB update with some software verification codes at play. This just from reading the recall. Over the air may not do the same thing. But you can enter your VIN and see if the recall has been satisfied.

 

Finally had the sync4 update. Took delivery of our new 2024 transit van. Pumped to get started on conversion build. Thanks for the information and I’m sure I’ll continue to reach out to the community for advice and answers.
